Drafts for my music magazine

• This was the first draft I did for the front cover of my music magazine• I had already decided on the font for my

masthead• I decided on the cover lines, because

they were catchy and were things that my audience would be interested in.• However I hadn’t yet decide on the

bands name.• In the beginning I was going to have a

medium-long shot which I later changed after doing further research.

• Once I had decided on the name of the band I changed the theme to candy• I decided on a tagline that was catchy• After doing more research I changed my

image shot type to a medium close up this is because I thought it showed more emotion and it looked more professional.

• This is an example of the layout I am hoping to produce with the images on the right and the content on the left.• I am going to have a ‘features’ and

‘every month’ section as magazines I have looked at such as Q do this and I think it makes it more accessible for readers.• I will have two images to make the page

more exciting and varied.

• This is a draft of what my left page of the double page spread will look like• I am planning on having a big quote

at the top as all the examples I looked at have this convention.• I will have a quick summary about

the article• The questions will be mostly about

music however some will be about the bands personal life as most interviews include this and also it is more interesting for the reader.

• This is an example of the right page on the double page spread• The image will take up most/all of the

page and will be a long shot of the three band members.• The bands name will be big and bold

and the sweets theme will continue through the pages

• Using the images I took for the magazine I have created these drafts using Microsoft Word• I am hoping

that my final cover (produced on Photoshop and InDesign) will look similar to these
