“....A firm towering which makes the invisible space of air. The steadfastness of the work contrasts. Tree and grass, eagle and bull, snake and cricket, They first enter into distinctive shapes and thus come to appear as what they are” Martin Heidegger, The Origin of Work of Art

L to the move Let us begin waiting for a bus. This is where we need to begin is we intend to travel. So we wait. We shall start with the letter We pronounce it “el”. It is in fact, once criticized and analyzed, only two perpendicular lines that intersect at the end. (i.e. I+_=L) And yet, for all its simplicity in its form it holds so much value. Turn this letter on its side,

flip it, and turn it up side down.

In doing so it may lose all connotation to the letter we recognize as “el”, however perhaps we should view as a form rather then holding all this value. It is, in this light, no longer a letter but a set of corners and moves. This all travel is, a set of L’s. The bus arrives at the stop. Once all passengers are seated we arrive at our first move. And continue down Sydney road. This is only for a brief moment of time though. after this we make our second move down Hope st. After this there is a long period of time where me make no more moves on our travels. We simply sit and wait and continue on our due course. Despite not making moves we are still moving, and there is still much to admire. The subtle changes along Hope st from industrial warehouses down to the quaint versions of the Australian white picket fence dream home are really quiet marvellous After a while we finally make our next move This happens again; And again; And again; So as to create an complete square. We have returned to Hope street one again. We are now returning back to where we began. The moves we make reflect the ones we took before. The journey we took on the bus was only a set of inverted, flipped and turned upside down “el’s”. In essence that is all travel ever is.
