o I am one of the Principal Investigators for a project on Nanomaterials for Li-ion batteries that received 2 Million NOK from Research Council of Norway in 2012.
o I have contributed significantly to 10 proposals submitted to Research Council of Norway and received funding of 5 Million NOK during 2003-2011.
o I was a participant in an Indo-EU project on Flexible Hybrid Solar Cells and
responsible for: co-ordinating communications between 5 European and 5 Indian research groups, collecting research materials and incorporating them in the proposal,
budget calculation and allocation of resources for each group etc. o I was one of the co-ordinators of Indo-Norwegian research team on Renewable Energy
research, submitted proposals and received funding from Research Council of Norway
to pursue collaborative research, exchange of researchers, conducting workshops etc.

Contribution to educational innovation:
I have designed curricula and lab for computer-based hands-on training courses to Ph.D students and have been offering this e-based learning at University of Oslo from 2010-13. I have installed computational software and visualization tools, given training in running
them to understand electronic structure and bonding characteristics.
(1) Visiting Professor – Spring 2014; Chennai Mathematical Institute, Siruseri, Chennai. I have been teaching Condensed Matter Physics to Final year B.Sc (honors) students. I have set up curriculum and examination methods for this course. I am incorporating e-
based teaching practices such as using Powerpoint slides, animations and provide lecture notes and problem sets as pdf files.
(2) Researcher Spring 2010 – Spring 2013. University of Oslo Tutor for Ph.D.-level intensive course: "Ab initio modelling of solar cell materials MENA9520)" I was responsible for the hands-on training session. I have designed and
prepared instruction manuals for the hands-on tutorials, which represent a significant part of the course. I have installed scientific software packages (TBLMTO and
CRYSTAL09) in computers, conducted tutorials and trained students in using computer programs to understand properties of materials by computer simulations. I taught crystal structure and electronic structure visualization tools to the students.
