POSITION TITLE: Design & Release Engineer DEPARTMENT NAME/#: Program Management Dept. #90 REPORTS TO: M1 Supervisor SCOPE OF AUTHORITY: Responsible for supporting the Design & Release of OPD parts / CO parts for V408 program PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the general direction of a M1 Supervisor, the FOM is the primary customer interface responsible for the successful delivery of the V408 project representing the manufacturing activity for an assigned vehicle program and plant. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and provide CAD proposals to resolve issues according to the function of the part and attribute affected Lead design direction for necessary functional part coverage Lead design direction for interface between various environments (DPA checks) Lead interface with VO for installation feasibility of proposed functional package Lead design direction for part attachment Ensure that part meet functional / attribute requirements Support the release of the part Support supplier selection Validate VP Underbody/Upperbody parts during BOM Validation. Work with Ford PPM / Planning / Purchasing to ensure proper sourcing. Manage issues stemming from the VP and PPM activity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial), or equivalent work experience, school plus a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in CAE Modeling  \ Manufacturing

Proficiency with MS Office suite. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Familiar with manufacturing processes. Knowledge in tools (production and prototype) /cost estimation Can work independently and with others. Flexible, positive attitude and leadership characteristics

PREFERRED:

Knowledge of TCE  and Vis Mockup Knowledge of WERS and AVBOM Minimum of 4 years of related experience. Automotive related process experience
