In July 2008, a one-off upfront endowment of HK$ 21.6 billion (approx. GB 1.7 bn) injected

An integrated arts and cultural district with world class facilities, distinguished talent, iconic architecture and quality programmes with a must-visit appeal to locals and tourists.
VISION
Planning Parameters
• About 1.4km in length, average 0.3km in width and land area of about 40ha
• Maximum Plot Ratio 1.81(about 726,000m2)
• Residential development not more than 20% of total Gross Floor Area
• Maximum Building Height from 50mpd to 100mpd
• Minimum 23ha public open space including a vibrant landscaped waterfront promenade (Min. 20m wide) and large piazza areas (min. 3ha) for public enjoyment
• Include Retail, Dining and Entertainment (RDE) Facilities
• Residential, Hotel and Office (Government to vest the land)

To prepare the detailed Schedule of Accommodation (SoA) and
Functional Briefs for the Core Arts and Cultural Facilities (CACF)
(i.e. 15 Performance Venues, Museum and Exhibition Centre)
To undertake the detailed technical feasibility studies for the Preferred Conceptual Plan Option (including the Environmental Impact Assessment under the requirement of Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance)
To carry out the preliminary engineering design of infrastructural facilities
To submit the Development Plan to the Town Planning Board for consideration
