Ballarat’s Lydiard Street starred as the main street in this 10-part mystery series, which tells the tale of Dr Lucien Blake, played by Australian actor Craig McLachlan. Dr Blake returns
home to Ballarat in 1959 to run his deceased father's medical practice. In doing so he also takes on the role of police surgeon, a job that finds him solving murders and mysteries...
Lydiard Street was transformed back to 1959 by replacing modern signage with hand-painted signs and hiding or moving street signs, parking meters and letterboxes. The first series aired on the ABC in February 2013 after being filmed throughout 2012. Series two
was fast-tracked and aired in early February 2014. Now, season three has been confirmed, to be filmed in mid 2014.
