OTHER ITEMS
➢ Created a major Consortium to focus on the use of Emerging Technologies for Oil & Gas
industry, RFID Oil & Gas Solution Group Consortium, http://rfid.tamu.edu. Generated a state-
ofthe-art Laboratory, equipment donations, projects, funding, membership dues, white papers,
many invited speaking engagements, and more.
➢ In collaboration with the Testing division of Motorola, I was able to secure a tester at a value of
$1,000,000 to further enhance the EET/TET effort in the area of testing. I made sure Dr. Fink
gets included for the credit to help him for his future promotion.
➢ A $2000 equipment and $1000 cash donation was also secured from TAC to support a senior
design project. To further support the junior faculty, I made sure the credit goes to Dr. Jung to
encourage him to seek industry sponsored projects.
➢ A $5000 donation from Axcess International Active RFID company was made to the newly
developed Sensors/RFID Lab.
➢ In January 2006, in collaboration with George Bush School of Government and Public Service, I
have submitted an informal proposal to a potential donor requesting $8 Million dollar gift to
establish:
➢ Paul Meyer Center for Public Service Leadership; and a Paul Meyer Endowment for the
Distinguished Practitioner's Chair for Leadership Paul Meyer "Grand Master's" Leadership
Education Program
➢ Being invited by the University to offer a new course on Freshman Seminar Class for fall 2008.
