City of WPG Crime Stats - Downtown

WPS made administrative adjustments to have their CrimeStats reflect the DSN and Downtown BIZ’s zone as downtown boundaries. This helps to paint a more accurate picture for the public/ media when it comes to the issue of downtown safety.

Explanation: Downtown has only 11 neighbourhoods, however the CrimeStats reported downtown with a combined 26 neighbourhoods before changes were made.

5. Downtown CCTV Database & Contacts for WPS

The purpose of cataloging members cameras is to create a database for WPS to have the information on who has cameras,

when needed.

When a crime is committed, WPS can quickly access the database, find out if there are useful camera locations to help identify the crime

and proceed to locating the individual who committed the crime.
