My passion for cities has led me to pursue a path in which my profession, hobbies, general interests and way of life have all merged. With an extremely international background, having lived in different continents all over the world, I currently live São Paulo, which I chose due to my fascination with mega cities. I am always looking for new challenges and have a creative and idealistic desire to transform cities on a global scale while designing in the local scale.

As one of the founders of Urb-i, I catalyzed Urb-i's breakthrough, with the creation and constant update of the website, social media channels and most prominently the Before After project. The later receiving a lot of international media attention and recognition. I created a team of international collaborators volunteering to help expand the before-after database and other local placemaking activities. My passion for urban design, public spaces, city research, maps, streetview, graphic design and social media all connected, allowing me to proliferate within Urb-i.
tactical urbanism & placemaking participation and organization of ephemeral and temporary interventions and events using tactical urbanism and placemaking

As a senior urban designer, I successfully accompanied large scale urban projects from the conceptual phase (which I was in charge of ) to the final masterplan design. I had a key part in the development of an efficient working methodology which allowed flexibility in the conceptual phase of projects, constantly changing until matching between design, client requirements and local legislation.I learned a lot about the Brazilian urban planning realm and the great difficulties and challenges to put forward quality urban design projects in this context.
Shopping Center Transformations Transformed suburban style shopping center to vibrant neighbourhood of newly created urban districts
New Urban Projects Mostly on greenfield sites throughout Brazil, large scale new city districts with central mixed used hubs and TODs.
Viracopos International Airport, SP Masterplan for 'land-side' of airport including a new urban district and transportation plan.

In the beginning of my career, I concluded international experiences in different architectural firms in South Korea, where I participated in large scale projects in Africa, central Asia and South Korea. In Australia, where I was in charge of the redesign of train station precincts and also development plans for local town centers, all in Sydney metropolitan area. In Israel, I participated in a few urban projects and competitions. As well as in Netherlands, where I completed a full-time internship dealing with various urban renewal projects.

Parramatta’s growth shall see an extension of the city centre. The city typology would have to extend to accommodate this growth. The road typology, where Auto Alley is located would be transformed to the city typology (which cannot accommodate the suburban auto sales strip)
Harris Park station is very local. A new station can achieve a greater impact on the surroundings. If located in an appropriate place, it can have a larger influence range.
There is a need to extend and upgrade the M4 motorway connection with the wider regional network.Regional traffic should overpass local traffic.
Parramatta lacks identity; a new skyline could change this to make Parramatta more recognisable.A skyline proposal for Parramatta could be divided into three com-ponents, which together make the complete icon: A. CBD - a large mass of buildings, less symbolicB. the in-between with a more spontaneous characterC. new centre comprised of iconic landmark buildings with symbolic characteristics

Experiments were conducted regarding the auto sales spaces that make up Auto Alley. Both the outdoor sales area and indoor showroom buildings were projected onto the roof level of Westfield shopping centre. The result shows that combined, the different areas fit onto the parking level. A second experiment was done taking this area and stacking it into a multi-story building. From these experiments it may be concluded that Auto Alley takes up space unnecessarily and could be combined and used more efficiently else-where, showrooms could possibly be stacked vertically.
To test the possibilities of densification of the Parramatta site, a series of comparisons were conducted with existing known sites.Three different high density areas were chosen, each with its specific characteristics. The first one is of an extremely high density area in the Sydney CBD. Though this area is extremely dense, it is not particularly dense in terms of residential population. The second example is of Potts Point which has a high residential density. The relatively small sized plots and building footprints are evident. The third example is of new developments in South Sydney. A high density is achieved here through means of multi-story large complexes, with wide open spaces and streets. In such areas, the streets are less lively in comparison to the other areas.
While each area has a high density, it has a different meaning as to what happens on the street level.
Different typologies generate different densities. In this exploration, different land-use functions were examined. For each use, there are at least two different variations shown which may create a different effect on the public domain. The density could be equally high in both examples, but gener-ate a different atmosphere on the street level. For example, equally dense office buildings with or without setbacks.

The need arises for the creation of a new magnet to balance the existing Parramatta CBD. This new magnet at the southern end of Church Street could be in form of a new centre. This new magnet will consequentially cause a change between the two magnets which could evolve in a spontaneous manner.

The master’s degree, has directed me to the focus on the relation between the public space and built space, morphology and street patterns. The main projects conducted include: 1 Studio - Densification and urban renewal of a commercial strip Auto Alley Parramatta. 2. Studio - A new entry landscape for Hobart. 3. Self-elective - Connecting fragmented areas in central Tel Aviv through a new axis. 4. Final project - Filling in the void of the area of Sydney's Central Station. I have concluded the program with several awards, prizes and a publication.

My education at the technical university of Delft, was crucial to the development of my designing skills. From the onset of the program I already had a keen interest in urbanism and directed my designs to reflect this. The last semester was totally dedicated to urbanism, where I completed two large projects, one in Almere and one in west Amsterdam. The other semesters dealt with: urban and architectural re-use; conceptual and philosophical museum design; from neighbourhood to block; architecture and structure; architecture and housing.

My fascination with cities and the way they work, together with a hobby of map collecting, lead me to draw maps in a very early age (around 10 years old). In this hobby, imaginary cities would be designed and drawn. These maps, or cities, would get more sophisticated and complex through time. Later on the hobby would be put to work at ‘Mapa’ a leading map company in Israel, followed by work at the Mapping Unit. The desire to design cities, lead me to naturally choose the architectural area where I chose to focus on urban design.
Mapa, Israel I was the editor of the highway interchange section, used GIS programs, edited and updated maps through the use of aerial photography and site research.
Childhood map drawing through my childhood I was fascinated by maps and would draw my own imaginary cities, focusing on street network and urban structure.
