6. Script / Storyboard / Screentests - Video
A script and/or a storyboard outlining your proposed video production.
Technical notes explaining how you would be filming & what equipment you would
need for each shot.
Some screentests - either a mock up or a short burst of what youre planning to do so
we can see what it looks like on the screen.
7. Audience Reaction
A further research task or focus group will help decide on your final designs.
Using your mock-ups or screentests, use a small sample of your target audience to
test their reactions, and use their opinions to modify your final production piece.
8. Evaluation
Looking back over each stage of your pre-production work, assessing your progress,
explaining problems you met and how you dealt with them, and discussing how
satisfied you are with your work.
WJEC say you have to evaluate your pre-production work by doing one of the
following tasks. You will be provided with a crib sheet to make sure you get this right:
(a) By producing a short written evaluation of between 400 and 600 words. This
report will outline any research undertaken, justify the work in terms of its target
audience and explain how it relates to current media output.
(b) By presenting a short oral report of 5 to 10 minutes which outlines any research
undertaken, justifies the work in terms of its target audience and explains how itrelates to current media output. Candidates will need to submit a transcript of 400-
600 words for moderation.
