It’s hard to balance life

When your body keeps shaking

As you stumble and fall for anything

You land on your bliss breaking

When you land once more

It’s De Ja Vu in the making because you fall again, and

put your soul up for the taking

Left… Right, step after step

You realized you’ve not gotten anywhere but just

gained depth

Trapped in a hole, wondering what’s next when you

climb out

The negative forces hold you down

Now your hearts full of conflicted flesh weighing many

pounds

Not to mention the iniquity hanging around

Every tear emptied thick not sleek

Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Happy Resurrection Sunday! This is the day that The Lord has made and we CHOOSE to rejoice and be glad in it. Jesus is alive! He is risen! He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Jesus is alive!

In this year of Kingdom Living, we have heard messages and studied texts that have taught us how to consecrate ourselves, that have reminded us of the true meaning of restoration, that have helped us figure out how to go through instead of around, and that have given us the tools to worry our worry. As we press for Kingdom Living, part of our task is to ensure that we discover who we were born to be.

You might ask what happens when we discover our purpose or who we were born to be, Pastor? Well, I'm glad you asked, because discovery is the first step in the process of a lifelong goal for all of us to be more like Jesus who knew His purpose from the beginning. Jesus' life, death, burial and resurrection are our best examples of what to do when you discover who you were born to be.

His Life: Read Luke Chapter 2, and you will learn about the birth of Jesus the Christ and be blessed by the fact that Jesus knew His purpose when He was only 12 years old. Although several people (prophets) prophesied and rejoiced about Jesus' birth and His purpose before he was conceived, it was not just those around Him who knew His purpose. He knew His purpose and He operated in it fully. Study Luke 2:41-52 for an account of how Jesus reminded His own parents of who He was born to be when they asked him why he stayed behind at the Temple.

His Death: Once you discover who you were born to be, your work is not over. It actually becomes more difficult, because knowing makes you accountable to now live out the purpose of your life. The best example that Jesus gave us of the difficulty of living out our full purpose is when He was praying in the garden of Gethsemane before he was arrested. Jesus was afraid. He was nervous. He was anxious. He did not want to die on the cross. Many times when we are afraid, we talk to our Father to give us guidance and comfort. Jesus was no different. He talked to His Father as well.

He said, “Abba Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” (Mark 14:36 NIV) Jesus knew that in order for the sins of the world to be forgiven that He had to follow the will of His Father in Heaven. Finally, Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). There they crucified Him, and with Him two others – one on each side and Jesus in the middle.” (John 19: 16-18)

His Burial: As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arima-thea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. (Matthew 27:57-58) This account of Jesus’ burial continues by describing how Joseph wrapped Jesus in a clean linen cloth and how he placed Jesus’ body in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. Joseph then rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. (Matthew 57:60) The events that

follow are a clear indication that Jesus fully knew who he was born to be, be-cause the chief priests and Pharisees feared that what Jesus said about rising again was true, so they went to Pilate with their concerns. “Sir, they said, “we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again…’ (Matthew 57:63). When Pilate was reminded of Jesus’ words of prophecy about his own life, he ordered that the tomb be secured. “So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.” (Matthew 57:66) Jesus spoke about things that were not happening in His life as if they were a fact; as if they were a definite thing. He spoke with power and authority at all times. He was so believable that those who killed Him still feared that his words were true even after his death and burial.

His Resurrection: “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself.” (John 12:32) Jesus’ words were true. On the 3rd day He was raised from the dead. Hallelujah! Jesus is our Advocate, our Lord, our Sav-ior and the one who obediently sacrificed His life so that you and I might have a

right to the tree of eternal life. I admonish you to read John chapters 12-17. These chapters of the Book of John contain extremely encouraging passages of scripture where Jesus predicts His own death, burial and resurrection and lovingly prepares His disciples for his departure, but with the promise of His ascension to the Father and His impending return. The disciples didn’t understand. “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.” At this, some of the disciples said to one another, “What does he mean by saying, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,’ and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?” (John 16:16-18)

Although the disciples followed Jesus in close proximity during his 3 year ministry on earth, they still didn’t understand. Sound familiar? Although many of us have followed Jesus for the majority of our lives, there are still things that we don’t understand; about Jesus, about the Triune God, about our own purpose in life…who we were born to be. Jesus was sensitive to these feelings and prayed a loving prayer to God in John 17. This entire book documents Jesus’ prayer to God before he was arrested. Jesus prayed to be glorified; He prayed for his disciples; He prayed for all believers; He prayed believing.

The only way that you will discover who you were born to be is to commit yourself to grow in the knowledge of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit; the Triune God. You must dedicate yourself to coming to church regularly. You must dedicate yourself to studying God’s Word privately, at Kingdom Building Classes, Growth Groups or Bible Study. You must talk to God in Jesus’ Name regularly, consistently, without ceas-ing. You must serve the people of God. You must praise and thank the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. He is worthy to be praised!

Jesus knew the journey of His life. He serves as our perfect example of Seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Jesus knew who He was born to be and He operated in the Center of God’s will to achieve His true destiny. Won’t you follow Jesus’ example and discover who you were born to be? As you discover it, I will be sure to continue to bring you the Word of God to guide your steps as you walk out your purpose in life and at our church.

Jesus Thank You For Your Last Seven Words

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift - ( 2 Corinthians 9:15)

Happy Resurrection Sunday! This is the day of honor, remembrance and reverence of the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is the day of reflecting on God’s gift to us – the gift of life through the blood of his one and only Son. This is the day to be sure of our salvation, our covering, our covenant with the Father through the Son as bound and knit together by the Holy Spirit. Many of us have children. Some of us have had children and lost them at an early age to sickness, to violence, to miscarriage, to prison. To birth a child and then to lose a child is one of the most painful experiences that a mother, a father, siblings and other family members can experience indi-vidually and collectively. One cannot imagine how difficult it must have been for Abraham, at the instruction of the Lord, to build an altar, place the wood in order on the altar, bind up his one and

only son, place him on the altar, lift his hand to slay his son and hear the Angel of the Lord call his name at that very moment and say, “Do not lay a hand on the boy. Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not with-held from me your son, your only son.” Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So, Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide (Jehovah-Jireh). And to this day it is said, “On the Mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” (Genesis 22:12-14) On a hill called Calvary, Jehovah-Jireh provided the atonement for our sins. He did this in the form of His one and only Son Jesus, the Christ. At his Father’s instruction, Isaac carried the wood up the hill to build the altar for a burnt sacrifice to the Lord. He asked his father, only once, “Where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” (Genesis 22:7) His Father assured him at that moment and said, “My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offer-ing.” (Genesis 22:8) Isaac heard his father, trusted his father and continued to follow his father’s instructions.

Likewise, Jesus bore the cross of Calvary at the instruction of his Father. Jesus heard his Father, trusted his Father and continued to follow His Father’s instructions. He was lied on, cheated, talked about and mistreated – for you and me. He was whipped, beaten, nailed to a cross and raised up to be crucified with guilty thieves – for you and me. He was the only one that was innocent. Yet, through pain and suffer-ing, he still continued to follow His Father’s instructions – for you and me. Lifting up Jesus’ cross was the first mistake of his cap-tors. Jesus told his disciples in John 12:32, “And I, if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.” When his cross was lifted, this prophecy became reality. Jesus confirmed his power and authority even as he hung on the cross; slowly dying; suffer-ing unbearable pain; unspeakable humiliation; ungodly abuse – for you and me. The completion of Jesus’ earthly ministry was sealed with the 7 last phrases that he spoke while hanging on the cross. I am not surprised that he said 7 things. The number 7 in the Bible represents the perfection and completeness of God. Jesus, the only man who ever walked this earth without sin is the

epitome of perfection. In this perfection, Jesus was the only eligible man who could serve as the atonement; serve as the sacrifice for our sins. Why? Because He was the Son of God and God had to make the sacrifice of the one and only Son that he bore through the Virgin Mary. Why? Because the mandate from the Lord to the saints of the Old Testament was to sacrifice the first fruit; the best: the animal without bruise or blemish. Jesus was the first fruit of the Lord; the best; the one without bruise or blemish. He was the only ac-ceptable sacrifice and the cross served to complete the pur-pose for His life. There is a message for each and every one of us in what are commonly known as the seven last words of Christ. We must hang on to and be encouraged by these last words that he spoke before he died like we would hang onto the last words spoken by a dying mother or father or child. Let us not minimize these 7 last words as only relevant to the time and to the day of the cross. Let us meditate on these words and internalize them as daily reminders of the power and authority that Jesus left us with through his blood.

I offer you now, prayers of thanksgiving for his last seven words from the cross. Personalize and

pray these prayers as part of celebrating Resurrection Sunday ...

Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do," Luke 23:34. Jesus I thank you for your example of forgiveness. I thank you for showing me how to pray for my enemies even while they are in the midst of hurting me. Jesus, thank you for reminding me that those who do not know you do not know what they are doing when they are evil and used of the enemy to kill, steal and destroy. Lord, please continue to help me to forgive, like you forgave your captors.

"Verily, I say unto thee today: Thou shalt be with Me in Paradise," Luke 23:43. Jesus, I thank you for hearing the prayers of your people and answer-ing them. Thank you for not being like us in our judgment and think-ing that robbers, and killers and thieves will not be with you or us in paradise. Thank you for reminding me not to judge, but to love my neighbors as myself and to trust your Word that you are in Paradise sitting at the right hand of the Father, interceding for me daily.

"My God! My God! Why hast thou forsaken Me?" Matthew 27:46. Jesus, thank you for taking away my guilt of asking God why. Thank you for reminding us with your honest words that even you were afraid and felt alone; even you thought that you had been abandoned by God, because at this time in your life your Father was silent. Jesus, thank you for your choice to die for me. You had all power and au-thority in your Hand and when God was silent, you could have stopped everything and come down from the cross like they tried to mock you and trick you into doing in Luke 23:35-39. Jesus, thank you for continuing to follow your Father’s will even when you didn’t or couldn’t hear his voice.

"Woman, behold thy son...Behold thy mother," John 19:26-27. Jesus, thank you for giving women the strength to witness the death of their children, like your Mom witnessed the death of you. Thank you for leaving us with the example of making sure that our families are okay when we have to go away or come to be with you in heav-en. Thank you for looking at your Mom and speaking to her and as-signing your most beloved disciple, John as the one to care for her in your absence. Thank you for knowing that losing you and living be-

yond your loss would be the hardest thing she would ever face in life. Thank you for strength and faith and trust in our times of loss and for helping us care for others when we are hurting.

"I thirst," John 19:28. Jesus, thank you for your self-sacrifice. Your captors kept offering you vinegar to drink and you refused it more than once (Matthew 27: 34, Luke 23:36). Jesus, even in death, you were still accomplishing the will of God and putting the needs of others in front of your own. In your Word, I see that you did not ask for or accept anything to drink until you, “knew that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled.” (John 19:28) Jesus, thank you for your diligence to ensure that prophecy came to fruition through you. Thank you Lord Jesus for being thirsty, but not drinking anything until it was time. For me Lord. For me.

"Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit," Luke 23:46. Jesus, thank you for talking to your Father even when you couldn’t hear him talking to you. Thank you for your obedience, for your sac-rifice of life during your ministry here on earth, for your example of suffering on your way to the cross, for your picture of power and au-thority on the cross. Thank you Jesus, for knowing that your Father heard you. Thank you for knowing that your Father was pleased with this, your most difficult choice in life, to follow His will for your life which was to die, to be entombed for 3 days and then to be raised up by the Father as the price for my sin…for our sin….for the sins of us who didn’t even deserve it.

"It is finished," John 19:30. Jesus, thank you for completing your ministry as prophesied through-out the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. Jesus, Lord God, Holy Spirit – you are the Triune God; you are the Alpha and the Omega; you are the Beginning and the End. Lord, thank you, for giving me Jesus…He is my all in all. He has kept me and carried me and guided me and directed me. He has chastised me; taken me down and built me back up to become who I was born to be. It is finished – is not the end, but yet the beginning of your eternal life and ministry. Thank you Lord, for forgiving me of my sins. Thank you for saving me. I love you Lord!

Retreat On March 22nd and 23rd, married couples from WCC and several other churches in

the Visionaries Pursuing Excellence (VPE) network of churches gathered for the 8th Annu-

al Married Couples Retreat. The theme of the retreat was communication.

Vince and Lori Conroy, Founders of Generous Marriage Ministry, launched the

retreat with their comfortable style of teaching by sharing the stories of their own journey

in their 32-year marriage. One of the testimonies that was particularly impactful, was

when Brother Vince shared how Sister Lori was used of God to bring him to Christ. He

blessed God for the boldness of his wife, who simply said, “I’m gonna follow the

Lord! What are you gonna do?”

Following the Conroys, Pastor and Lady Monnique Barron laid the foundation for

the theme of our retreat. Ephesians 4:29 was the focus scripture which admonished every-

one to Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to

the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Pastor Daren, in his own

special way, told us that, “We should be talking about other things than other folks!” He

educated everyone on the purpose of communication, the 6 versions of communica-

tion, how we can work toward understanding, and especially how to merge our value sys-

tems into one which is a process that takes work and guess what else…communication!

On the second day of the retreat, everyone was abundantly blessed as Bishop Rufus

Turner and Lady Trena Turner facilitated a listening exercise that was second to none. I

believe that everyone present was significantly impacted as we collectively discovered

how the “background noise” (in our hearts and minds from past experiences) significantly

impacts how we listen, communicate and respond to our spouse. The Turners taught us the

principle of first response and the principle of personal touch. If you want to know more

about these, just ask one of the married couples that attended the retreat. But make sure

you have some time available, because it won’t be a quick conversation. These were life-

saving, I mean, marriage-saving principles.

Pastor and Lady Monnique facilitated the last portion of the day and again dropped

Holy Spirit knowledge on the couples. Here’s a summary of something that I believe will

help everyone; married or single. He said, “If you find it hard to talk implement a 4-step

process: (1) sow encouragement; (2) find a mediator; (3) write to each other; and/or (4)

find a marriage more mature than yours.” All we could say after this was, “Wow!” It

seems so simple to communicate, but it’s one of the hardest things most couples deal with

in marriage.

Pastor and First Lady, thank you for your commitment to continue this journey of

helping couples keep their vows to God. Every married couples retreat reminds us of Mat-

thew 19:6 which says, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has

As a part of the Body of Christ, we are mandated

to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As parts of the

body of World Conquerors Church, we are man-

dated to uphold, support, and live out the mission

and vision of God’s house.

There are many components of the human

anatomy in the earthly realm such as muscles,

organs, limbs, and fluids. Although the heart

and mind are also a part of our human anato-

my, they are the two critical elements of our

spiritual anatomy.

Build the People

In order to build your health and immunity in the

earthly realm, you take vitamins A , B, and/or C, as well

as other supplements. In order to build a healthy spiritual

anatomy you must receive a healthy dose of the Word

daily. Part of the mission of World Conquerors Church is

to “build the people” and the way this is implemented is

through the teaching of the Word by Pastor Daren Bar-

ron. By receiving daily downloads of the Word, you can

build yourself up.

Your Heart contains and stores Word that you re-

ceive daily. It is through the gateways of your heart

(eyes, ears, mouth) that you download God’s Word,

which protects you, instructs you, and guides you in the

earthly realm.

Once you receive the download of the Word of

God into your heart from the spiritual realm, it is then

processed by your Mind which makes the decision to ac-

tivate the instructions. This is the guidance you need to

live out your day to day life.

World Conquerors Church is a Bible Believing,

Bible teaching church. So, through the teaching of God’s

Word we fulfill our mission of building you (the people)

up so that you maintain a healthy spiritual anatomy.

WCC Launches a New Website!

To launch is:

To throw or propel with force; hurl; To set or thrust in motion; To set going; initiate; To introduce to the public or to a market; To begin a new venture or phase; embark; and To enter enthusiastically into something; plunge. On Sunday, March 24, 2013, World Conquerors Church launched its new website during the Sunday Celebration Service. Elder Thom Brown, WCC Executive Pastor, excitedly talked about the journey to the launch of the new site. He acknowledged everyone whose hands were used of God to build and maintain the first WCC website, as well as those that began the journey to this launch over 2 years ago when Pastor Daren Barron cast his vision for a new website. WCC’s website was launched using every adjective of every definition that is present-ed above! “I bless God for every person who committed their time, expertise and talent to help us to get to the launching pad. It feels good to know and see how working in unity results in excellence. We are excited about being able to reach the world in a new and fresh format,” said Elder Thom Brown. We are hopeful that you will enjoy the website and take advantage of all of the tools that are there to help you discover who you were born to be.
