PREVIOUS MEETING WIZARDS 118, CELTICS 93

VERIZON CENTER | WASHINGTON, DC | NOVEMBER 9, 2016

Otto Porter Jr. scored a career-high 34 points and had 14 rebounds to lead the Wizards over the Celtics, 118-93. Porter shot 14 of 19 and 3 of 5 from 3-point territory, sparking the Wizards to a 26-point lead after a quarter -- an advantage that never dipped below 15 the rest of the way. Porter scored 20-plus for the second consecutive game and delivered the win he believed the Wizards (2-5) desperately needed. On a night Bradley Beal left with right hamstring tightness and John Wall was ejected for the second game in a row, Porter was the offensive and defensive catalyst with four assists, three steals and three blocks.

15-15 CLUBJohn Wall recorded his fifth performance of 15+ points and 15+ assists vs. Minnesota (1/6 - 18 pts, 18 asts). His previous 15-15 games have been vs. Phoenix (11/21 - 18 pts, 15 asts), at Oklahoma City (11/30 - 15 pts, 15 asts), at San Antonio (12/2 - 17 pts, 15 asts) and vs. Milwaukee (12/26 - 18 pts, 16 asts). He is one of four players (James Harden, Russell Westbook, Chris Paul) to record multiple 15-15 games, the only player in the East to do so. Since entering the league in 2010, only Chris Paul (31) and Russell Westbrook (19) have more 15-15 games.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE TRACKERJohn Wall (23) and Marcin Gortat (22) have the most combined double-doubles among teammates in the NBA (45). Cleveland's LeBron James (14) and Kevin Love (23) have 37. Last season Wall and Gortat combined for 90, the most among teammates in the league. Wall has the most of any guard in the East, the next closest is Avery Bradley with nine.

A BALANCED STARTING FIVEWashington features five players who average double figure scoring. Led by John Wall (23.2), Bradley Beal (22.1), Otto Porter Jr. (14.1), Markieff Morris (13.2) and Marcin Gortat (11.5) all average double digits. The same five finished last season averaging 10.0-or-better per contest. Washington is 7-5 when the starting five all score in double digits. Washington is one of seven teams to have two players averaged 20+ points per contest, one of five teams in the East.

KEEPIN’ IT (UNDER) 100Washington is 8-1 this season when holding its opponent under 100 points. Last season the Wizards had a 27-5 record when keeping opponents under the century mark. In 2014-15 their record was 39-10 when opponents were under the threshold. Since the start of the 2014-15 season, Washington has held 12 teams under 90 points and carries an 11-1 record in those contests.

JOHN WALL NAMED KIA NBA EASTERN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE MONTH John Wall was named the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for December, his second POM honor of his career (December 2015). Wall led the East in assists per game (10.7) while averaging 24.5 points (fifth in East), 4.4 rebounds and an NBA-best 2.67 steals. He led the Wizards to its first 10-win month since December 2014. He led the Wizards to a 3-0 record during the week and averaged 24.3 points, 13.0 assists (best in NBA), 5.3 rebounds and 2.67 steals while shooting .500 from the field. Wall had a double-double in each game as well. It was his sixth Player of the Week award.

WIZARDS IN DECEMBER The Wizards went 10-5 in December, one of four Eastern Conference teams to win double-digit games. During the month, the team has shot .495 percent (1st in NBA) to average 108.6 points (6th in NBA, 3rd in East). Washington is scoring 18.3 points off turnovers (6th in NBA, 2nd in East) and scoring 14.9 fast break points (7th in NBA, 3rd in East) per game as well. Washington went 8-8 in December last season. The Wizards last 10 win month was December 2014, when the team went 12-4.

On a career-high 18 made field goals and 31 attempts, Wall outscored the Magic's starters 52-51. His previous high was 47 points, which came vs. Memphis on 3/25/13. Wall entered the contest with two games of 40+ points. Wall tied Michael Jordan (Chicago, 12/20/89) for the fourth most points scored by an opponent against the Magic in a game. The last Wizard to score 50+ points was Gilbert Arenas when he had 51 vs. Utah on 1/15/07. Kelly Oubre Jr.'s 'Holiday CeleOubre-tion' Toy Drive

The Washington Wizards celebrated the season of giving by help-ing DMV children during the holidays. One of the many Wizards involved in the community, Kelly Oubre Jr. held a toy drive benefiting the Salvation Army during the December 18 game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Wizards, Oubre and the Salvation Army teamed up for the annual 'Toyland Toy Drive' on Sunday, December 18, during the Washington game against the Clippers. Washington coaches, players and staff brought toys prior to the game to participate. Fans were encouraged to donate as well and they came out in force with brand new unwrapped toys. Each fan that donated received an autographed Kelly Oubre Jr. holiday poster.

More than 800 toys were collected at the game and more than 200 dol-lars was raised in monetary dona-tions. All toys donated benefited underserved children in the DMV area.

The #DCFamily community made an impact this holiday season.
