Homecoming Alumni Reception The undergraduate chapter of Delta Upsilon and
the Alumni Board would like to cordially invite you to the
Georgia Tech Chapter's Homecoming Alumni Banquet
on Friday, October 31st at 7pm. This is great opportunity
for you to catch up with your fellow alumni and meet the
current undergraduate brothers. This year, the banquet
will be held at 5 Seasons in Midtown, Atlanta. The address
to the location is 1000 Marietta St NW #204. Due to a joint
effort between the undergraduate chapter and the
generosity of the Alumni Board, dinner will be served to all
those in attendance, free of charge. In addition, two free
drinks will also be provided to alumni and their guest who
are over 21. Guests are more than welcome, we only ask
that you RSVP here so we have an accurate head count for
dinner.
We also invite you to tailgate at the house November 1st,
prior to the homecoming game. Festivities begin
at 8am with the Wreck Parade (we are nearing completion
of our brand new steam engine powered wreck) which will
be immediately followed by the tailgate at the house
including a barbecue pig, a vast assortment of sides,
Mimosa bar and Bloody Mary bar.
The brothers look forward to seeing you and your family,
dates and guests for another great homecoming!
Fraternally,
Christian Jreige

Event Update
Philanthropy
Our service and philanthropy efforts have gotten off to a
great start so far this semester. On September 19th, we
helped Atlanta area Alumni Matthew Washburn with the
Hornet Hustle. The Hornet Hustle is a fun run held each fall
at Hawthorne Elementary School. For this event, we arrived
early in the morning and directed kids to their waiting
areas and then ran the race with them. It was a great
success and all present enjoyed themselves .Also on the
agenda for this semester in another bone marrow
registration drive. After holding our first event in the
spring, we feel that we can make this a semesterly event.
This event will take place on October 15th and 16th.
Event Update
Beach Weekend
This year our brotherhood went to Tybee Island for our
annual Beach Weekend. We take this time to relax and get
away from the stresses that Tech brings and to get to know
each other more. Some brothers went fishing and others
went kayaking with their dates around the island. Our
house was near the beach so we were able to just walk to
the beach whenever we wanted and our house was also
close to the pier so our brothers were able to go there for
dinner and the bars.
Scholarship
For the second year in a row our chapter has been able to
offer three scholarships to incoming freshman. We provide
one incoming freshmen with $1000 and two freshmen with
$500 dollar awards based on high school academics, extra-
curricular activities, and a two-staged interview
process. We were fortunate enough to have many qualified
applicants, and ended up giving our awards to three
incredibly qualified young gentleman. Adam Zhang
($1000), Michael Tatum, and Christopher Nowack (a
current associate member) were our award winners this
year. We would like to once again thank the alumni for
their generous donation of $1000 to help fund half of these
scholarships.

Pledge Date Night
Our new fall associate members associate members from
last spring are having their annual date night this week.
Carlos is cooking a delicious 3 course meal to serve to our
associate members and their dates. Along with the excellent
food, Murphy Greathouse and Hayden Riddiford are setting
tone by adding some smooth jazz by playing the piano and
bass.
Sweetheart Biography
This past spring our current brothers brought back the
tradition of sweetheart. Our current sweetheart is Breanna
Cota. She is a third year ADPi at Tech and she is studying
Mechanical Engineering. She has been dating Brother
Matthew Naugle for over a year now. Bre has influenced
our chapter positively over these past few years. She has
improved our relations with ADPi and helped us win a
philanthropy competition of collecting pop tabs for Ronald
McDonald house which provides a home away from home
for families with hospitalized children. That entitled us to
have dinner with ADPi last spring. She has also introduced a
lot of her sisters to us at events. She was also the
quarterback for our co-rec team and is involved with most
events that we host.
Georgia Tech Football
Due to our great attendance to football games last fall, our
block this semester is located right next to the band in the
lower bowl. Our new block provides a great view of the
game especially in goal line plays. The combination of our
team starting 5-0 and our great block position has led to a
resurgence in fanaticism at DU. It has also provided us with
many great images and memories of game days. The image
below was captured as we stormed the field after our
victory over Miami! We look forward to another great game
against Virginia for Homecoming. Go Jackets!
