A PROUD TRADITION
FOUNDED 1887
Oliver Footwear, now a our th generation Australian owned amily
company, owes its origins to gold mining in the Victorian provincial
city o Ballarat.
Our ounder James Oliver, a bootmaker by trade, came to thegoldelds o Ballarat, then amongst the richest alluvial and

His quest or the elusive nuggets was unsuccessul, so he returned
to the trade o bootmaking which he had learned in the U.K.
Established as the business o Oliver & Stevens, the new venture
commenced producing boots or miners and armers in 1887.
Throughout our long history, Oliver Footwear has remained in the
control o the Oliver amily, with Andrew Oliver, a ourth generation
descendant o our ounder, James Oliver, currently Managing
Director o the company.
The same entrepreneurial streak which marked the establishment
o Oliver Footwear in 1887 continues today.
Oliver Footwear retains its commitment to ootwear manuacturing
in Ballarat, Australia, operating rom a modern and innovative
manuacturing plant supported by a dedicated team o employees.
Innovation in product research and development to address the
