gEt somE sand actionEver wondered what is the secret behind the workings of quicksand? Well, why not make it yourself and find out?

What you need• 1 cup of maize corn flour• Half a cup of water• Plastic container• Spoon

What you need to doMix the corn flour and water thoroughly in the plastic container to make your instant quicksand. Slowly stir it with a spoon and you will see that the mixture will turn liquid. If you increase your speed and stir the mixture quickly, the

sand will become hard. When liquid, punch or poke the mixture quickly and watch how your hand disappears in the quicksand.

What’s happeningWhen water is added to the corn flour and stirred slowly, water molecules travel between the corn flour grains and the flour particles slip and slide over each other, making the sand liquid. When the sand is stirred quickly or when it’s punched or poked quickly, water doesn’t mix with the grains efficiently so the sand turns hard. This mechanism is similar to the way quick sand works. Quick sand exists in the solid form ,

until a change in pressure or too much liquidity makes it lose its strength to hold weight, thus swallowing anything that steps into it in that moment.

My PET STory

Bunnies with their cute little paws, long ears and baby like faces will melt your heart right away. It was nine months back when I brought Hunny and Bunny home, they were both 6 months old.From the very first day they won my heart with their cute expressions and jumps of happiness. Rabbits usually stay fine in their cages except when they get really bored. Every evening I would open their cages inside my home and that’s when I get to see them do every possible cute thing ever. They would jump up high in the air whenever they felt excited, they’d thump their feet on floor whenever they sensed danger, they also run circles around my feet when it was time to feed them. Both of them would stand on their feet as tall as they could and tap on the

cage whenever I came to give them their meal, it’s like they have their own ways of requesting people.

There are countless memories that makes me laugh when I am sad.Hunny used to love me way more than Bunny, she would lick my finger whenever she felt satisfied with my petting, and she was such a cute little fluffy rabbit. My Hunny was so photogenic she would just stare at the camera until the picture is taken. And Bunny, I must say was such a flirt that whenever I took him into my lap he would just stare at my eyes for some time and then wink like it’s only me and him! They would always demand me to sing songs when I took them for baths. As they grew older, they became much tamer and more understanding,

they became potty trained too. At times when Bunny noticed me busy on the phone, he would hop on to my lap and try to reach my phone so that I give my full attention to him. One day I was busy filling out a form in my dining room when suddenly I felt like as if someone was pulling at my dupatta. I didn’t pay heed at first but after a couple of minutes I saw Bunny was doing it with his teeth.It left me laughing my head off and as I turned to look at Hunny. To my utter surprise, my sister managed to record the whole funny thing in her camera. Till today, that video makes me laugh so hard and amazes me with their cuteness. After all what is life without a bit of entertainment in it?

A DIY list is never complete without this awesome craft that you just cannot miss. Grab some markers, grab a mug and get your oven ready.

You need• Oil based permanent markers• Plain white ceramic mug• Oven• A bit of teamwork with your

parents

What you need to doTake your markers and draw cool designs, pictures or quotes on your mug. After you have decorated your mug to your wish, put your mug in the oven and bake it at 425 F for 30 minutes. Leave your mug to cool inside the oven after you turn the oven off. Bring your mug out from the oven after an hour and cool it in room temperature for 24 hours. You can use your funky mug after a day, even create some more! The best marker to use for this project would be a Sharpie marker,
