The ‘Power to You’ project Over the years, we have been contributing to societal development by promoting education initiatives. We have partnered with reputable organisations towards various programmes, including Girls in ICT, connected schools and donations to schools in underserved communities where we operate. This includes ICT workshops and training for students at all levels of education, provision of internet connectivity in schools and donations of learning materials for students in underdeveloped areas.
We are committed to using our resources to improve access to quality education, that is why we created the ‘Power to you programme,which aims to transform the way students learn, teachers teach and administrators manage schools, using modern –day technology.

The programme was created to bridge the digital divide in schools especially those in underserved areas so that students in such communities have access to the same universe of knowl-edge available to students in major cities or developed schools through ICT.
To date, we have trained over 2,000 students at all levels of education in Nigeria; conducting workshops on Connectivity, Cloud, Video Conferencing and IoT solutions. We have trained students of Grace Schools, CIS Interna-tional School, Neander International School, Clemmy High School, SS. Peter and Paul School, Benue State University and Covenant University, among others, on field trips to our facility to learn about new technologies that are improving lives and business operations in Nigeria.
Every year, Vodacom Business Nigeria sponsors the Girls in ICT Day event, an initiative of International Telecoms Union (ITU), aimed at bridging the gap between women and men in the ICT sector. The event encourages young girls and women to consider careers in ICT. Our Girls in ICT sponsorships also include prize donation, and field tours for selected schools who participated at the event. This provides an avenue for mentorship and knowledge sharing from our Senior Female Engineers.

We provide Internet access to selected unprivileged schools in Nigeria to promote learning, anytime, anywhere in the school premises, enabling teachers and learners to have access to digital resources available on the Internet.
We contribute to schools and students in underprivileged communities where we operate; these include donations to the building of IT rooms and amenities that aid learning in these schools. Institutions benefiting from our aid, include SS. Peter and Paul School, Saint John Nursery & Primary School, Fitrah Children’s School and Youth Empowerment Development Initiative (YEDI).The vision of the college is to provide the
scientific and technical skills required to produce self-reliant young men and women in order to be ready for tertiary institutions and the ICT industry.The donation of high-speed Internet access and a power generator by Vodacom Business Nigeria guarantees this vision by giving staff and students of the school access to the world of knowledge and opportunities available on the Internet.
Vodacom Business Nigeria has empow-ered SS. Peter and Paul School, Ikate, Elegushi with a fully equipped library, giving the pupils access to more knowledge through reading. We have also donated quality backpacks and water bottles to pupils of SS. Peter and Paul Crèche, Nursery & Primary School, Ikate Elegushi and Saint John Nursery & Primary School, Ikorodu; helping these pupils safely carry their learning materials and drinking water to school.
This school is located in the Agege area of Lagos state, with 8 classrooms for Nursery and Primary classes and a total number of 213 children. Our donation to the school goes a long way towards the refurbishment of classes and the running of a proper sick bay and a playground.
Youth Empowerment & Development Initiative (YEDI)YEDI brings awareness of HIV/AIDS and Malaria, and other diseases, through sports activities, with the support of the Ministry of Education. YEDI also empow-ers youth by providing basic and means of sustenance skills through participato-ry and fun activities at school,in disadvantaged communities.
SS. Peter and Paul School, Ikate ElegushiSS Peter & Paul Creche, Nursery and Primary School, Ikate Elegushi is run by Loving Gaze is an independent not-for-profit organization located in Nigeria. The school, established in 2003 has over 300 students and teaching staff of 30 qualified teachers. Vodacom Business Nigeria has donated a high speed internet service to connect the school’s library, IT rooms, Teachers and Administration office and some classrooms.
