    Navigate Thomson ONE Investment Management

    The Thomson ONE Investment Management workspace is easy to navigate, highly

    customizable and designed to give you quick access to the information you need.

    Sections, Groups and Pages

    Each Section in the side navigation is made up of Groups that contain Pages. Groups

    organize pages that have similar features or content. For example, in the Security

    section, all the pages in the Overview group give you different types of overview dataon a security.

    Right-click Menus

    Many features and commands are available on the right-click menu. Depending on

    where you right-click, different options are available. For example, when you

    right-click on a chart, the right-click menu has options for adding indicators, creating

    new charts, and more. When you right-click on Flex Monitor, the menu has options for

    entering new symbols, creating symbol lists, and other options.

    Some options, like language settings and favorites are always available on the

    right-click menu.

    2Portfolio EditorWith Portfolio Editor you can create and modify watchlists, funded portfolios, and

    composite portfolios.

    Access the Portfolio Editor

    In Portfolio, click Portfolio Analytics, and select Portfolio Editor.

    Import a Watchlist or Portfolio

    When importing, you can create a new portfolio or watchlist. Or, you can update

    existing portfolios or watchlists with the data you import.

    To import a watchlist or portfolio

    1. Click the Properties tab and then click Load Holdings.

    2. Select a portfolio or watchlist from the drop down or click New.

    Note: If you upload a portfolio with the same holdings date as the selectedportfolio, the selected portfolio is overwritten.

    If you import specific holdings dates, only those dates are overwritten.

    3. Click Browse to select an import file, and click Next.

    4. Select the appropriate check boxes if the import file has delimiters, the first

    row contains column names, or the symbols are as of holdings date.

    Note: Do not select Symbols are as of holdings date if symbols are current.

    5. Click Next.

    6. Fix errors or warnings in your holdings statement.

    7. Click Next, review your holdings, and click Next.

    Note: Duplicate entries for the same security on the same date in the

    holdings statement are added together in the final upload.

    8. Click Close.

    Create a Watchlist or Portfolio1. Click the Properties tab and then click Create.

    2. In the Create New Portfolio dialog box, select List or Funded.

    3. Type a unique code and name.

    4. To assign a default benchmark or currency to a portfolio, make selections

    from the drop downs.

    5. Choose Private or Company Level.

    6. Click OK and add securities(see "Add Securities to a Watchlist or Portfolio"on page 5).

    Add Securities to a Watchlist or Portfolio

    1. Select a portfolio or watchlist from the drop down.

    2. Click the Composition tab.

    3. For watchlists, in the Detail area, click in the ID column to add a security.

    4. For portfolios, click Add at the bottom of theHoldings Date column, select a

    holdings date on the calendar, and click in the ID column to add a security.

    5. Type an identifier or click to search for a security.

    6. For portfolios, enter the number of shares.

    Note: For a short security, enter the number of shares as a negative number.

    If you enter zero as the number of shares, the security is removed.

    7. Press ENTER.

    8. Click Apply.

    Managing Watchlists and Portfolios

    You can modify, delete or copy your watchlists and portfolios.

    Modify a Watchlist or Portfolio

    To modify a portfolio

    1. Click the Properties tab and select a portfolio or watchlist from the drop down.

    Note: You can modify any portion of your private portfolios.

    2. If applicable, modify the portfolio name and code.

    3. If applicable, select a Default Benchmark and Currency.

    4. Click Apply.

    5. Click the Composition tab to change any part of your portfolio or watchlist.

    6. Click OK.

    Copy a Watchlist or Portfolio

    You can copy any type of portfolio to adapt it to your needs.

    Note: If you copy a funded or composite portfolio, it copies as a funded portfolio on

    the current holdings date. No history is copied.

    To copy a portfolio or watchlist

    1. Click the Properties tab, then click Copy.

    2. In the Copy Portfolios dialog box, select a portfolio, index or watchlist from the

    drop down.

    3. Type a unique code and name.

    4. If applicable, assign a default benchmark and currency using the drop downs.

    5. Choose the portfolio viewability:

    Private entitles only you to view the portfolio or watchlist.

    Company Level entitles everyone in your company to view theportfolio or watchlist.

    6. Click OK.

    Delete a Watchlist or Portfolio

    Deleting a portfolio or watchlist deletes its entire historical series. You can only delete

    your personal portfolios and watchlists.

    To delete a portfolio:

    1. Click the Properties tab.

    2. Select a portfolio or watchlist from the drop-down and click Delete.

    Composite PortfoliosA composite portfolio combines multiple portfolios into one.

    To create a composite portfolio

    1. Click the Properties tab and then click Create.

    2. In the Create New Portfolio dialog box, select Composite.

    3. Type a unique portfolio code and name.

    4. Select Private or Company Level.

    5. Choose a portfolio weight:

    Market Value weighs the component portfolios based on daily marketvalue.

    Custom Weighting allows you to specify a fixed percentage for eachcomposite component.

    6. If you selected Custom Weighting, select a re-balancing frequency from the

    drop-down.

    7. Click OK.

    Note: Deleting a composite portfolio does not delete its component portfolios.

    Add Portfolios to Your Composite Portfolio

    To add portfolios to a composite portfolio

    1. Select a portfolio from the drop-down.

    2. Click the Composition tab.

    3. At the bottom of theHoldings Date column, click Add to choose a holdings

    date.

    4. Select a holdings date from the calendar.

    5. Under Holdings detail, click in the ID column to add a portfolio.

    6. Select your portfolio or index portfolio.

    7. Click Apply to save your changes.

    Note: When you include an optional column, you must include the previous optional

    3Look up Securities, Portfolios, andMarkets

    Use the Entity Manager to quickly navigate to relevant data on a security, market, or

    portfolio.

    The Entity Manager is the central point of control within Thomson ONE Investment

    Management and allows you to easily shift focus between markets, portfolios, andsecurities.

    The Entity Manager streamlines your workflow by populating multiple services with

    data when you make a single selection in one of the Entity Manager input boxes

    (Security, Market, or Portfolio). For example, when you select a ticker in the Security

    box, the workspace navigates to the Security section. All the pages in the Security

    section display data on that ticker. The active Entity Manager box is indicated by the

    lighter shade of blue.

    To look up a security, portfolio, or market

    1. Type the security symbol, portfolio name, or market in the appropriate field.

    Note: If you are working with securities, select a symbol type from the

    drop-down.

    2. If you do not know the symbol, portfolio name, or market, click the appropriate

    drop-down, and click the Find tab.

    a. Enter your search criteria and click Find.

    Note: On the Find tab on the Market drop down, the search results

    automatically populate.

    b. Select your symbol, portfolio name, or market from the search results.

    3. Click Go.

    You can quickly view today's, real-time research, on the Daily Research page.

    The Research List-View page helps you monitor the latest developments for a

    security, portfolio, or market.

    On the List-View page, you can:

    Set a default filter to display only research filtered by date, contributor, subject,

    and keywords.

    View a complete list or tab sort your results to view only research, fixedincome, or in-house documents.

    Print or save research.

    Access real-time research and research published within the last 10 years,including inactive companies.

    On both pages you can filter results to view only your favorite contributors or researchfrom your firm.

    All content comes from First Call.

    To view research

    1. In Security, Portfolio,or Market, click Research, and then click List-View.

    2.Under Filter Criteria, click

    3. Select a contributor and click Add.

    To view only internal research

    1. In Security, Portfolio,or Market, click Research, and then click List-View.

    2. Click the In-house tab above the results table.

    Filter Research

    By default, the Research List-View page displays the previous week's research for the

    active security, portfolio, or market in the Entity Manager.

    You can filter by:

    date

    contributors

    subject

    keywords

    Research is available in real-time with a ten-year history that includes inactive

    companies.

    To filter research

    1. Click to expand the filters.

    2. Make selections from the drop-downs and type keywords.

    3. To add contributor or subject filters, click the tabs under Filter Criteria.

    4. To clear all filters and return to the default date range, click Reset.

    5. Click Run Search.

    6. To view only specific types of documents in your results, click the tabs above

    the results table.

    Search by Keyword

    On the List-View page, you can search for research using keywords.

    To search for research using keywords

    1. In Security, Portfolio,or Market, click Research, and then click List-View.

    2. Type keywords and select a search parameter from the drop down.

    3. Click Run Search.

    5Access the Latest Estimates andRevisions

    Estimates pages help you gauge analyst sentiment showing you high-level consensus

    forecasts, revision activity, forecasts broken down by analyst, and more.

    In Estimates, you can:

    Access all analyst estimates for a single measure or view all revision activityfor a security.

    View real-time mean, mean filtered by contributor, last 30 day mean, andsurprise mean for all financial measures.

    View revisions for multiple measures across your entire portfolio or symbol list.

    View Recent Estimates and Revisions for a Security

    The All Measures Summary page shows you the latest mean estimates and

    recommendations for a company, broken down by quarter and fiscal year.

    Each financial measure on the All Measures Summary page links to detailedinformation including individual analyst ratings, the calculated mean, a filtered mean

    that includes only selected analysts, and more.

    You can also drill down from an estimate value to the source document to view the

    data in context.

    To view all recent estimates for a security

    1. In Security, click Estimates.

    2. Click All Measures Summary.

    To view recent estimates and revisions for a single measure

    1. In Security, click Estimates.

    2. Click Detail - Single Period.

    3. Select a measure from the drop-down.

    To view mean estimates that include only specific analysts

    1. In Security, click Estimates.

    2. Click Detail - Single Period.

    3. In the Filter column of the Estimate Detail table, select the check boxes next

    to analysts you want to include in the filtered mean.

    The Filtered/Preliminary Mean data in the Estimates Summary table updates.

    View the Latest Revisions for Your Portfolio

    On the Revisions page, you can track the latest up/down revisions to a measure for all

    securities in your portfolio. You can view up to the last three months of revisions.

    To view estimate revisions for your portfolio

    1. In Portfolio, click Revisions.

    2. Select a measure from the drop down.

    6Search and View News HeadlinesNews on Thomson ONE lets you search multiple news sources to find the news you

    want. It also provides dynamically updating headlines.

    You can search for news stories by symbols, portfolios, text, and Thomson

    Categories. You can create complex searches, save searches, adjust your news

    history settings, and turn on or off your entitled news sources.

    News on Thomson ONE retains all settings, including sources, history, font size, and

    last search when you navigate to another service or log off.

    You can also view top news stories from Reuters by clicking .

    Note: If your News pages do not look like the screenshot, please contact your

    Relationship Manager.

    To search and view news headlines

    In Security, Portfolio,or Market, click News.

    Set News Preferences

    You can customize the News display, the default search date range, context, andfunctions.

    Display options include title bar text, font size, color, columns that appear in the

    headlines display, number of headlines, and appearance of stories in the headline

    area or as pop-ups.

    Date and time range options range from the last five quarters to a specific time and

    date.

    Context options allow you to default to the Symbol or Portfolio in the Entity Manager.

    Function options display or hide categories and content related to your current

    search.

    To set News preferences

    Click .

    Select News Sources

    Depending on your entitlements, you can choose to see news from specific news

    sources. (See Available News Sources for a list of Thomson ONE offerings.)

    To select news sources

    1. Click Advanced.

    2. Click Source(s).

    3. Select news sources.

    4. Click OK.

    Create Advanced News Searches

    When you perform a text search in News, the initial headlines that appear reflect

    stories that contain that text in the headline or within the story text. Subsequent

    dynamic updates reflect only stories in which the text appears in the headline.

    When you click a headline to open a story, the search text appears highlighted.

    To search for stories by text in an Advanced Search

    1. Click Advanced.

    2. Click Symbol.

    3. Type a symbol.

    4. Click OK.

    5. To add text to the search, click and or or, and type the text.

    6. To add a Thomson Category to the search, click and or or, and type a

    Thomson Category in brackets {}.

    7. Click Search.

    8. To access a story, click a headline.

    9. To view headlines on companies or categories related to the story, if

    available, click the appropriate link at the end of the story.

    If you know the name of the portfolio, you can select it from a list and then search on

    the symbols in news headlines and stories.

    To search for headlines by portfolio in an Advanced Search

    1. Click Advanced.

    2. Click Portfolio.

    3. In the Portfolios tab of the Portfolio dialog, select a portfolio.

    4. Click OK.

    5. To add text to the search, click and or or, and type the text.

    6. To add a Thomson Category to the search, click and or or, and type a

    Thomson Category in brackets {}.

    7. Click Search.

    8. To access a story, click a headline.

    9. To view headlines on companies or categories related to the story, if

    analysis, Thomson Charts offers a wide variety of:

    View Price Charts

    In the Security section, select a page under Price Charts.

    To create a basic chart

    1. Right click in the chart, choose new chart, and select the type of chart youwant to create.

    2. In the Symbol box, type a symbol. Separate additional symbols with

    semicolons.

    3. From the series type drop down, select Bars, Candlesticks, or Line.

    4. Select a frequency and display range from the drop downs.

    5. Click OK.

    Note: After you create your chart, you can change settings using the Chart

    Settings dialog box(on page 20).

    Chart Settings Dialog Box

    The Chart Settings dialog box is the main tool for working with charts. In the Chart

    Settings dialog box, you can modify the current chart and establish defaults.

    You can modify background and series colors, series style, gridlines, frequency,

    legend content, and other chart options by double-clicking the part of the chart you

    want to modify. The Chart Settings dialog box opens up to the correct tab, based on

    the part of the chart you clicked.

    To access the Chart Settings dialog box

    Double-click on an empty part of the chart (keyboard shortcut: CTRL + Shift +

    C).

    Note: Select the Save these settings as defaults check box in each tab to

    apply your changes to all new charts.

    Change Time Range and Update Frequency (Thomson Charts)

    You can quickly change both the frequency and time range of price data, extend price

    data beyond the visible range of the chart, and eliminate weekday holidays from your

    daily charts.

    Note: By default, weekday holidays display as a blank space in a price series.

    To change the frequency or range for a chart

    1. Double-click the X-axis.

    2. In the X-axis tab of the Charts Setting dialog box, select a frequency and

    range.

    Note: To extend charted data beyond the visible range of the chart, selectGet additional data, and scroll to hidden data points using Ctrl + right

    arrow and Ctrl + left arrow.

    3. To eliminate weekday holidays on daily charts, select the check box in the

    Other Settings area.

    4. To make these changes the X axis defaults for all new charts, select the

    check box.

    5. Click OK.

    Compare Multiple Symbols

    You can compare multiple symbols and create performance (rebased) charts.

    Performance (rebased) charts measure percentage change instead of price change,

    letting you compare differently priced instruments. Up to six symbols are scaled to a

    common starting point and diverge or align as their percentage change varies, letting

    you compare a stock to its group and the overall market. Scaling options include:

    Rebase to zero, where the starting point is zero with positive changes aboveand negative changes below.

    Rebase to 100, where the starting point is 100 with increasing changes above

    and decreasing changes below. Rebase to [0] symbol, where the first symbol is used as the source against

    which the other symbols are compared.

    To create a performance (rebased) chart

    1. Click , and then click Performance (Rebased).

    2. Type symbols in one or more symbol fields.

    3. To add more symbol fields, click More Symbols.

    4. Select a scaling mode.

    5. (Optional) Select to use the prior period's close.

    6. Click OK.

    Add IndicatorsYou can quickly add common indicators from the Indicator drop down on the Analysis

    toolbar.

    Or, on the main right-click menu, you can select from a complete list of technical

    indicators, modify parameters, and set defaults.

    To add an indicator from the Analysis toolbar

    On the Analysis toolbar, click the Indicator button (the button displays the lastindicator selected) or make a selection from the drop down.

    To add an indicator from the right-click menu

    1. Right-click within a pane, but not directly on a series or a drawn object, point

    to Add: Technical indicator or Add: Sentiment indicator, and then click anindicator.

    2. If charting multiple symbols, select a symbol from the Base Indicator On

    drop down.

    3. Select the parameters and/or number of periods.

    4. To save your modifications as defaults, if applicable, click the Save These

    Settings as Indicator Default(s) checkbox.

    portfolios in real time. You can monitor various sectors and industries to uncover

    which companies are affecting your portfolio's performance. Additionally, you can

    portfolio is outperforming or underperforming the market.

    The Screening/Report Writer is a universal equity screening tool that allows you to

    create a list of companies based on self-selected criteria.

    To screen for new ideas and create reports

    In Screening, click Universal Screening.

    Perform a Basic Equity Screen

    You can perform a basic screen against all companies with minimum effort.

    To perform a basic screen

    1. Select Basic Screener from the drop down.

    2. Select a currency from the drop down.

    3. Click next to Under Background Info, select country ID's and sector

    You can create a screen by selecting screener items, defining a series of criteria

    To create a new screen

    1. Select Advanced Screener from the screener tab drop down on the Basic

    Screener page.

    2. Under Criteria List, select a search universe from the drop down.

    If you select Portfolio/Index, click the hyperlink to the right and select a

    portfolio or index.

    Note: Portfolio/indexes that display zero content cannot be selected.

    3. In the Data Items section, click data items you want to add to your criteria list.

    Note: to limit selected criteria items to results only, check the Include in

    Results Only check box.

    4. To search for a specific data item, click the Item Search tab, type an identifier

    (at least three characters are required) and click Search.

    5. In the Criteria List section, select an operation qualifier in the Connector

    column, then type or select values.

    Note: At least one screen item must be selected to activate the Run button.

    6. If you want this item to appear only in your results, or to be used only to

    screen results, select the appropriate check box in the Include in columns.
