• Rebel Israel Putnam barked the famous command to his men “do not shoot until you see the whites of their eyes”

• Putnam was born on January 7,1718 and died on May 29,1790.

• The British didn't want to fight the Colonist, they wanted them to retreat.

• By the end of the battle, the Colonist had ran out of ammo and fired glass, and rocks at the British.
