My 7th and 8th grade students

made these dragon puppets

with their Kindergarten

Art Buddies. At first the older students were nervous, but

they soon realized that helping the

younger students is a lot

of fun!

I learned that if I gave my students

a theme, their imaginations

would take off in wonderful directions.

Most of my students had no previous art training…and I am not trained to teach art, myself!

Page 19: Teaching Art

Teaching art without training or credentials was both

frightening and fun. In the end, I’m proud of what my students accomplished. I’m proud of the inspiration I was able to give

them.

Not bad for a music teacher!
