Mid Shot- shows a figures waist upwards. Typically used for dialogue.

Close Up- This shows very little background, and concentrates on either a face, or a specific detail.

Extreme Close Up- An extreme close-up of a face, would show only the mouth or eyes, with no background detail whatsoever, to emphasis the point.

Extreme Long Shot-contains a large amount of landscape. It is often used at the beginning of a scene or a film to establish general location.

Long Shot- contains landscape but gives the viewer a more specific idea of setting. A long shot may show the viewers the building where the action will take place.

Low Angle- The added height of the object may make it inspire fear and insecurity in the viewer, who is psychologically dominated by the figure on the screen.
