Common Activities :              Exercise and fitness ­https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TIAWTq8cxkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_A_HjHZxfIShow them the video and let them practice the exercise every day with their friends. It is very interesting  and fun exercise. Let them also do the activity given below. Tightrope WalkerYou will need:­ a length of rope (5­10 m) stretched out in a line­ a big book­ an empty plastic bottleEncourage your child to WALK SLOWLY! This will require more control from your child.If your child keeps losing their balance in this activity, then show them where their tummy muscles are and ask them to pull them tight while they walk.Have your child walk along the rope line while balancing the big book on his/her head.Add the fun element by saying there may be alligators in the water so don't step off the rope!Make it harder by asking your child to stop, and bend over to touch the bottle midpath without letting the book drop! Walking heel­to­toes harder and requires more core stability.

Splash pool :Water play activities  in  younger children can improve motor skills  thus  increasing  their  chances of  being morephysically active in later life. Start off with short sessions of about 10 minutes and build up gradually.  Take a fewbath toys to the splash pool. Activity 1: Floating TreasureLine up  children at one end of the pool and make sure the pool is less than half filled with water.Throw light  items that can float (balloon, plastic fruits / toys) into the shallow end of the pool and few drop weighted items likecoins, golf balls, and small, sinkable toys into the bottom of the pool.When you say "go," the treasure hunt begins and children will have to swim, float, and wade to get the most items.The child with the most treasure wins!

Activity 2: Red light, green light

Sit next to your children on a shallow step of the pool. If your children are  little older, they  can hold onto the side of the pool, facing the wall. When you say green light, let them  kick like crazy! A red light means stop, and yellow light means kick slowly.

Storytelling :Storytelling : Select any story from the video links given below and narrate it using props like puppet screen, handpuppets,charts, picture book or just voice modulation and related facial expressions should do the trick. The storyshould continue for at least 3 to 4 days till the children get the hang of it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCVpFdgLgFY (Lion and the mouse in Hindi)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCTGStrLLzc (Cindrella)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86qeLlC5lHU (Wolf and Seven goats)   Gym Room : Children can also be taken to the gym room as an active indoor activity. Make sure that the childrenare divided as per the age groups. Little ones should not be taken together with older kids. Let them play on thetrampoline, treadmill, tunnels, balancing beam.

AV Room : Take them to the / AV room for the movie or simply let them listen to some music. It might be a goodidea to roll out mats on the floor for the children to take afternoon siesta while listening to soothing music.

Gardening :Choose a site in the school outdoor area with as much sun as possible! If there is no sunny space, you can still plant a garden. Do not plan too large a garden. It is far better to begin with a small plot and increase the garden's size. Wet the sand on the previous day. Give them spade or stick to dig the soil. Once done, give them methi seeds to put all over the place. Let them sprinkle water on it and let them give water everyday. Ask them to observe the seedsgrowing into plants.

Free play: Decide if the free play will be outdoors or indoors. Let children play the games of their choice. Give them a choice of toys to play with and guide them on how to use the toys. And if it’s an outdoor equipment, organize them to play games or use the play equipment by taking turns.                                                        Indoor and Outdoor Play 

Indoor Play:Land, Sea, AirTo play this game, you just need to draw a line on the ground. Pick one person to be the caller.The caller calls out the commands, "land," "sea," or "air."If the caller says "land," everyone jumps behind the line.If the caller says "sea," everyone jumps over the line.If the caller says "air," everyone jumps up.If land or sea is called twice in a row, the second time, you don't move.If air is called twice in a row, jump up both times.If you jump on the line or make a mistake, you're out.The last person still jumping is the winner

Beanbag BalanceProvide a pillow or small bean bag and ask children to put it on their head and walk fast to the finishing line.You can tell them different variations like to keep them on their elbow, knee, back etc. The one who finishes first is the winner.

Cheese Please (for older children)Choose one person to be It. That person has to cover his eyes. Secretly pick someone else to say the words, "Cheese please," in a way that will disguise their voice. The player who is It has to guess who just said, "Cheese please."If he gets it right, the person who said, "Cheese please" is in. If the player gets it wrong, another person has a turn. There’s 

no real winner, it's just a funny game where everyone can use silly voices. Keep playing until everyone has had a turnand then go around again.

Balancing Ball Provide children with a white paper, balls and 2 baskets. Place the balls in the basket, ask two children to hold the paper horizontally and teacher to place the ball on the paper. Children run to the finishing line and put the ball into the other basket on the other end. The team who collects maximum  number of balls is the winner.

Hide and SeeCollect a bag full of items that are very familiar to the children. Have everyone gather around the sand pit. One child volunteers to be blindfolded (or to look away) while another child hides one of the items from the bag in the sand, leaving only a hint of it sticking out. The child who is blindfolded has to hold the item sticking out of the sand and tries to guess what it is. To lessen the difficulty, dump out all the items from the bag for children to see before playing the game.

Outdoor Play:Bear Hug tagHave your children  spread out in a large playing area. Make sure to designate the areas that are out of bounds.Choose one child to be the first tagger, or "It."When you say "go," the person who is It should try to tag other children. If a child is tagged they must freeze in place. Another child can unfreeze a player by giving them a big bear hug! Eventually, only one child will be left who isn't frozen. That child is the winner or gets to be "it" if you play another round.

Like a monkeyKids love to play Like a Monkey as they can be as noisy, funny and goofy as they like!. Have the kids spread out as they will need plenty of space. Start the music and give instructions such as: Walk like a monkey / Laugh like a monkey / Swing like a monkey / Chatter like a monkey.To calm them down, ask the children to do more sitting activities such as: Yawn like a monkey / Lie down like a monkey / sleep like a monkey. The kids will have a great time playing this game and enjoy themselves immensely.

Musical FrogsYou need to play music / just spoon and steel plate will also do for making noise. You'll also need lily pads. (You can use something to represent lily pads, like small pillows, or you can make them out of green construction paper.) Teacher can be the referee. This game is like musical chairs, but when the music starts, players have to hop around like frogs. While players are hopping, the referee takes away a lily pad, then stops the music. When the music stops, the frogs have to find a lily pad to hop on. The frog left without a lily pad is out. The last frog on a lily pad is the winner.

Up – down – stop ­ go gameHave children stand up either by their seats or spread around the room / play area. Demonstrate the appropriate actions for “up”, “down”, “stop”, or “go”. On “Up”, children should squat down. On “Down”, children should jump, or stretch up as high as they can. On “Stop”, children should move around the play area in a specific movement (suchas walking, jogging, running, skipping, hopping, etc.) or, if children cannot move around the playarea, they should  just do on the spot actions. On “Go”, children should freeze.

Wall to WallFind a space to run across from wall to wall. Start with a counting­go game, yelling the loudest "Go!"  where  the children run from one wall and stop at the other. Run with different children each time. Count up to different numbers. Count down. Then challenge different ways to run. Tip toes? Knees high? Arms high? Circling? Swinging? Twisting? Zig­zag? Backwards? Jumping?

Art & Craft:Painting Rainbows with CombsPour lines of washable paint in rainbow order onto a paper plate. Show children  how to dip the comb so it touches each of the colours. Let each child drag the comb along the paper in arches. Talk about the different colours of the rainbow.

Leaf PrintingLet children go on a leaf hunt and collect a big selection of different leaves. You need to choose fresh leaves, leaves that are soft and supple and with veins. Now all you need to do is colour your leaf in with some coloured permanent markers. Children need to colour the whole leaf, making sure that they go right to the edges and get marker along all the veins and the centre. Once the entire leaf is coloured, give the  marker covered fingers a quick wipe, then carefully lay the leaf, coloured side down onto a clean sheet of paper.Try not to move the leaf around once it’s on the paper, then carefully use the rolling pin, pressing down quite hard, and roll over the leaf just once. 

Drawing­Free hand drawing: Give white paper for each child and ask them to draw whatever they feel like andcolour it beautifully. Give them ideas but don’t help them in drawing. Let them draw as they like. And for oldergroup they can be asked to see some object and then draw looking at it. After its finished, make them sign / put their thumb print on their drawing.

Flying Saucers Two paper plates (or more depending how many children are making them!), Scissors, Sticky tape, Newspaper, glue (Home made glue),Water, Medium­sized bowl, Paint, Paintbrush.Draw and cut out a small circle in the centre of  two plates (this is to help paper plate saucer fly!)Turn one plate over and tape the two plates together around the edges.Let children tear strips of newspaper. Pour glue into the bowl. Dip strips of newspaper into the glue mixture, then completely cover the flying saucer.  Make sure to wrap some of the strips through the centre hole you cut earlier to link the two plates together in the middle.Leave to dry. (You can add more layers if you want your flying paper plate craft to be extra strong).Paint your flying saucer any way you like.

Ice Cream Paper CraftMaterials: white chart paper (or other colour), brown paper, scissors, glue, crayons, glitters:Trace and cut out a simple ice cream shape from chart paper and cone from brown paper.Glue the ice cream on top of the cone. Decorate the ice cream with spots or stripes.Decorate your cone with criss crossing brown lines. Apply glue and add glitters on top.

Popsicle Stick SuperheroesPopsicle Stick, Paint, Chart paper, Glue, ScissorsFirst have children paint their popsicle sticks however they like! While they are working on that – cut out some triangles from the any coloured chart paper for the capes and a small rectangle for the masks. To finish off the Popsicle Stick Superheroes – simply glue the popsicle stick to the “cape” and add on the mask as well with some eyes & a mouth.

Making Gift Wrap Materials: potatoes, craft paper, paint, paint brushesCut the potatoes in half.Place each potato half face down on a towel or paper towel to reduce the moisture. Draw a design on the face of your potato. Trace the design using a small knife, cutting approximately a 1/4 inch deep.Using the knife, cut a 1/4 inch around the rim of the potato making sure not to cut through the designed area. Remove the cut section. Apply paint to the design. Push firmly to stamp your craft paper.

Imp: Please make sure that the knife is beyond the reach of children. You can also do the preparation beforehand to be on the safe side. 

Handprint DuckTake a green square chart paper. Stick a blue chart paper on it as water pond. Let each child dip their hand in yellow paint and dab it on the blue paper. Once dried, teacher to use orange paint and draw the beak and feather line for the duck.

Paper Plate LionProvide them with a paper plate, yellow paint and orange paint. Let them dip a sponge piece in yellow paint and spread it all over the plate. Then use a small piece of sponge, dip it in orange colour and spread it at the corners. Use scissors to cut stips at the corners all over the plate.Use marker to draw eyes, nose and mouth for the lion craft.
