Page 1: Standing on God's promises

Standing on God’s PromisesWhen you pray, your prayer has more power when

you include one of God’s promises from the Bible.

The Bible tells us, “Faith comes by hearing the Word of

God” (Romans 10:17, paraphrased). So including a

promise from the Bible in your prayer will encourage

your faith that God is going to answer in the way that

He knows best.

Following are a few examples of including one of

God’s promises in a prayer.

Promises

The promises in the Bible are gifts

from Me to you!

Thank You, Jesus! I can

use them in my prayers.

Jesus, please help me to be diligent and concentrate on my

homework, so that I gain a better understanding of the assigned material. The Bible

says, “The lazy person wishes for something and doesn’t get it: but the diligent person will

achieve his goals” (Proverbs 13:4, paraphrased).

Thank You, Jesus, for the many times You have healed us. Please help our

little brother to be well soon. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all”

(Psalm 34:19 AKJV).

Jesus, You always take good

care of us. Please help me understand what’s wrong with

our car.

Whilethe car is being fixed, let’s thank Jesus for all He does for us, like in the verse, “Oh that men would

praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works

to the children of men” (Psalm 107:8 AKJV).

And thank You for

the pretty river we’re parked by.

And for the pretty flowers.

And …

Thanks, Jesus, for

good weather and for the car.

Dear Jesus, the Bible tells us

“And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three:

but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians

13:13 ESV).

Please help us teach others about

Your love through this puppet show.

Jesus, direct me to the things that are best for our new

baby. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:6

NKJV).

Help us to find fun toys for

the baby! “My God shall supply all your needs

according to His riches in glory by Christ

Jesus” (Philippians 4:19, paraphrased).

Thank You, Jesus, for Your

protection. Please keep us safe through the

night.

Like the Bible verse that says,

“Whoever puts his trust in the Lord shall be

safe” (Proverbs 29:25 AKJV).

Stop right there!

Please protect and keep Mrs.

Crowne today. And remind her of Your love

for her.

You promised Your loving care for

her when You said, “I will not leave you comfortless:

I will come to you” (John 14:18 AKJV).

I like to use a Bible promise in

my prayers. It helps to remind me of how

much God loves us and wants to answer

our prayers.
