Spill Containment
Why is spill containment important?Chemical and oil spills pose a significant threat to workers, theworkplace and the environment. Accidental spills happen and whenthey do you need products that help you to reduce your exposure.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has requirements forthe containment of hazardous materials:
• EPA 40 CFR 264.175 Container storage areas must have containment systems that have sufficient capacity to contain 10% of the volume of the containers or the volume of the largest container whichever is greater.
• EPA 40 CFR 265.173 A container holding hazardous materials must always be closed during storage, except when necessary to add or remove waste. A container holding hazardous materials must not be opened, handled or stored in a manner which may rupture the container or cause it to leak.
• SPCC Compliance: The Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) rule includes requirements for oil spill prevention, preparedness, and response to prevent oil discharges to navigable waters and adjoining shorelines.
Types of Containment Units
Modular Spill Platforms
• Easy to connect built in U channel allows for multiple configurations of the modular spill platforms
• Polyethylene construction for chemical resistance
• Forklift pockets for easy transportation
• Flat top grating
• Removable grating for easy cleaning
• EPA 40 CFR 264.175 and SPCC compliant
