This is our group work of volunteers from SI DOSRIUS.

Our group work visited the three homes and

spoke to the grandparents about their interests.

“It isn’t common that young people spend their

free time voluntarily with US”.

They LOVE READING but they find it difficult to read

for a long time because they get tired and the writing

is very small.

Old people like READING. They thought it would be great that someone could

read for them.

So in this project, young VOLUNTIERS of our school are going to the senior

centers of the village every week. They will bring a selection of books and

newspapers.

We asked them which things they could teach us. They

love cooking so they proposed a cooking workshop.

In our village we have an old tradition of omelette competitions.

The winners are always old people, because they have a lot of

experience in preparing this typical Spanish dish.

We like cooking and reading with old people and we

think that they will be very happy. It’s a new and

rewarding experience for everybody.
