Treat your list with respect and target your messaging well to maximize donations.

Make landing pages• Landing pages are a great way to target potential donors or

grow your email list.

• Create segmented multiple landing pages – by geographical area, by income levels, or however you slice your market.

• Landing pages must be focused.

• Have one goal per page so decide if you want your visitors to give you their email or give you their money.

• Make sure everything on the page is re-enforcing that goal.

Social media engagement

People love giving to charity, and often love telling others that they’re giving.

Include links directly to ticketing or donation pages in your email marketing and social media.

Landing pages should include donation links, or even better embed your donation box right on the landing page.

•After your event email every attendee and thank them for their generous contributions (you collected everyone’s email right?).

•If you have a newsletter then ask them if they want to join (don’t automatically add them because this can be seen as spam and drive donors away – remember to respect your email list!).

• Keep your list engaged with useful content (like a demonstration of where their money went and the positive effect they’ve had).

•Then start gently reminding them of your next event or charity drive – don’t nag and don’t just ask for money.
