Scandium is a powdery, silvery white metal.It is relatively light, and is very strong.
UsesUsesScandium is used in military aircrafts and space shuttle parts. Mixtures of aluminum and scandium were used in the Russian space crafts Mig 21, and Mig 29.
Scandium is also used in high performance sports equipment, such as hockey sticks, baseball bats, and bicycle frames.
