Not even the pouring

rain could deter the will and

spirits of the students of the

Marinduque State College as the

college celebrates the very first

day of the MARINDUQUE

STATE COLLEGE OLYMPICS

YEAR 2013.

Banners waved and

thousands of students showed

their undying love and support as

the president of our college, Dr.

Romulo Malvar, officially

declared the opening of the MSC

Olympics, accompanied by the

symbolic lighting of the torch

and the flag raising ceremonies.

It is truly amazing how

the MSCians show their willing-

ness to go for the honor and

pride not only of the departments

where they belong, but also to

the college they serve.

Just imagine their efforts

and determination to ignore the

physical and mental exhaustion

that practice and try-outs bring to

them. But surely, the efforts and

sacrifices they have demonstrat-

ed will pay off in the following

days, as variety of sports, cultur-

al and literary competitions go

about within the campus.

LET THE

GAMES

BEGIN!

The pressure and excite-

ment is now brought to a whole

new level as departments com-

pete against one another, in hopes

to claim the crown as champions

in the contests and games that

they compete in. They do this not

only for themselves, but also in

honor of the people who molded

and trained them into who and

what they are at present.

But no matter what hap-

pens, everyone competing in the

MSC Olympics is already a win-

ner, just like what Rev. Fr. Peter

Perilla said in his homily at the

holy mass conducted before the

opening programs.

It is safe to say that, as

long as an athlete exerts all his

efforts and gives all that he can

for the sake of his team, he de-

serves all the recognition and

support he can get from his de-

partment, win or lose.

The first day has now

passed, yet it is just the beginning

of a series of heart racing events

to occur within our campus in the

next few days.
