Senior Architect with over 15 years experience as a practicing Architect/Urban Designer including international experience in China, Africa and the Middle East. of using Adobe Photoshop, Rhino, VRay, 3D Max, Maya and related rendering software.

Market sector experience includes Urban Design, Master Planning, Architectural Design and Project Management. Project types including; hospitality, healthcare, residential, commercial, retail, high rise and large scale mixed use projects. Designed several projects based on LEED criteria, including residential towers, hotels, banks and religious buildings.

Winner of several architectural design competitions and tenders such as; the National School of Arts in Botswana, the Cultural center of Savannah, and large scale projects in China.

Teaching Experience: Professor of Architecture and Urban Design and Director of Urban Design Program at Savannah College of Arts and Design (SCAD) from 2003-2008. An Adjunct Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at SCAD and author of upcoming book called; “Architecture, a Global Practice”.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Jan. 2015-Present: Self-employed & freelancer: I have been working and collaborating on projects in the Chicago area and abroad. I managed a mixed use development over $60 million USD in Winnetka, IL for a private developer. I have also been documenting several hotels for Remington Hotels Group, such as the Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, and working on their renovation and upgrading construction documents.

2012-2015: Metro Millennium Building Consultants Ltd., in Shanghai, China Position: Design Director Responsibilities: Design director for a Chinese international firm with base office in Hong Kong, branch offices in Shanghai and Shenzhen, China. I was in charge of the design and coordination of large scale projects in China and the Philippines. I was leading and supervising a team of over 30 technical staff; including senior and junior architects, technicians and administrative staff. I traveled to many cities in China and the Philippines to meet with the clients and to present design proposals for variety of projects. 2005-2012: Gunn Meyerhoff Shay Architects PC. and HGBD International Inc., Savannah, GA Position: Senior Architect/Designer Responsibilities: As a senior architect/designer for a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering international firm, with six national offices in the USA and two offices abroad, I was in charge of the design, production and coordination of hospitality projects, residential, institutional, mixed use, banks and churches. I was also responding to requests of proposals, carrying client liaison, coordinating with engineering disciplines, preparing presentations for design review boards, marketing materials and interviewing staff for hiring. I was mentoring junior architects and interns.

2003-2008: Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Savannah, GA Position: Director of Urban design Program & Professor of Architecture and Urban Design. Responsibilities: Served as the first Director of Urban Design Program and Professor of Architecture and Urban Design. I was involved in starting the Urban Design program, both the Minor and the Graduate programs, prepared and taught architectural and urban design studios, architectural practices and construction technology. 1996-2003: Group 9 Architects and Urban Planners Pty. Ltd., Gaborone, Botswana Position: Partner and Managing Director Responsibilities: Managing director of a full service Architectural and urban planning firm providing services to private and government sectors in this rapidly growing, and prosperous South African nation. Designed and managed several residential projects for the public sector and many privately owned residential, commercial and mixed use projects. Won and awarded an architectural competition to design the National School of Arts in Gaborone, Botswana. 1989-1996: BWC, Mount Carmel Projects, Office of the Project Manager, Haifa, Israel Position: Senior Resident Architect Responsibilities: I was engaged in the planning, design and construction administration of 19 monumental terraces and three additional administrative buildings for a World Religion Center on the slopes of Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel. An award winning project with over $250 million US dollar cost. 1978-1989: Campbell Design Group Inc., St. Louis, MO Position: Architect/Designer Responsibilities: As an intern/designer for a multi-disciplinary firm based in St. Louis, with a branch in Germany, I collaborated in the design and management of several public and private projects including; Children Psychiatric Hospital, Athletic Clubs, Hotels, Residential complexes and Nursing Homes.
