Society of Road Safety Ambassadors (SORSA) is a unique, national non-profit mak-

ing and non-governmental youth-led organization that acts to keep young people safe

on Botswana’s roads. It comprises of active youths who are cognizant of the profound

responsibility to reduce road crashes and who appreciates the moral and patriotic

mission to educate the society on road safety issues, especially in this era where Botswa-

na is among the countries hardest hit by road crashes.

The explosive rates of the incidence of road crashes in Botswana have created one of

the greatest crises of modern times and such compels the country to act. We are

threatened with extinction: people are dying in chilling high numbers. It is thereby

imperative to confront the problem with a high degree of commitment and vigor. This

extraordinary number of road traffic accidents in Botswana was one of the biggest

ACHIEVEMENTS Attended The Fourth Global road safety Meeting, organized by The Global

Alliance of NGOs for Road safety and WHO I2th – 14th March 2015, hosted

at Marrakesh, Morocco.

Primary Schools Road Safety outreach dubbed-“See and Be Seen” in part-

nership with AMEND & Puma Energy.

Distributed reflective bags to 2500 Primary School students in

Gaborone.

Formation of youth road safety clubs

Public Holidays roadside campaigns in collaboration with MVA fund

Public Education in Mmegi newspaper ,RB1,Duma FM and GABZFM

Participated in the 3rd Annual Guidance & Counselling open Day event

hosted by Botswana International University of Science & Technology

(BUIST) at Palapye main campus.

Took part in the 2014 Remembrance of Road Traffic Accident Victims - in

collaboration with key road safety stakeholders
