In a classical fashion Minneapolis sought to ‘rediscover’ its origins at the Mississippi River. This effort sought to bring together historic recalling of its past, present a ‘front yard’ for its adjacent Riverplace shopping center, enhance tourism opportunities and provide recreational potential. In my initial effort I evaluated the economic vitality of the community and its potential for additional tourism. I then evaluated the community’s riverfront for recreational opportunities and followed with general and detailed design of recreational facilities
