Principal and Senior Leadership

Principal, Andrew Wood

Principal's Welcome Letter August 2014

Andrew Wood is an experienced international

school Head with a postgraduate qualification in

Education with experience both of the UK and

International Baccalaureate curricula. He read

for a BA (Hons) and a HDE at the University of

Cape Town, South Africa, majoring in English and

Geography. He holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in

School Leadrship from Henley College. Prior to

joining Greenfield he was the Principal of the

International School of Hout Bay, where he took

the school through its International

Baccalaureate authorization process, oversaw the construction of a new campus, growing the

enrolments and lead the young school to produce Diploma Programme results that were above the

world average. He has worked as a consultant advising candidate schools through their IB authorization

process. A keen mountaineer, Andrew has been on expeditions to North and South America, Australia,

the Alps and the UK. He has run outdoor education programmes and Duke of Edinburgh Awards for

large numbers of pupils and created leadership training programmes for senior pupils.

A volunteer leader of the local mountain rescue team provided extraordinary opportunities for him to

work with teams and people in situations that require clear leadership, with many of the principles

relevant to school leadership.

Vice Principal - Mr. Richard Drew

Richard was educated in Nottingham, UK before gaining his B Ed from the

University of Bedfordshire. He has held a full range of teaching positions

in pastoral and curriculum roles during his 25 year career as a Physical

Education specialist as well as playing 1st

class Rugby for Bedford in the

English Premier league. In 1997 he completed his MSc at Loughborough

University, UK and then his NPQH in 2006. In 2009 he took up the post of

Senior Lead Advisor for Taaleem Edison Learning in Abu Dhabi and was

recognized by the Abu Dhabi Council as leading the “most improved oy’s school as part of the PPP project. Richard joined GCS in 2012 as Deputy

Head of Secondary and became Vice Principal in January 2014.

Head of Primary Years Programme - Mrs. Bridget Justen

Prior to joining Greenfield Community School as the Head

of Primary in 2012, Ms. Justen earned her Ba helor’s, Master’s, and Educational Specialist degrees at the

University of Colorado, Boulder/Denver. Her career in

education has included being an elementary teacher,

Junior High Dean of Students, and an Elementary

Assistant Principal and Principal. Upon moving to

Germany, Mrs. Justen served on the Munich International

School Board of Education and later as the Principal of

the Junior School. In 1999, she became a Site Visitor and

Consultant for the International Baccalaureate. Mrs.

Justen has served in these roles for several schools in the

United States, Europe, Canada, Asia and the Middle East.

She has participated in IB/ CIS re-accreditation and NEASC

school accreditation visits and has served as a member of

the IBPYP North American Report Reading Committee

and the IBPYP Administrator Committee.

Head of Secondary Programme - Mr Ole Sealey

Mr Sealey is a vastly experienced IB educator. After graduating from the

University of Alberta in 1999, his teaching career started in the year 2000 as

a secondary level History, Geography, and PE teacher in Mississauga,

Canada. In 2004 he secured his Master’s Degree from Melbourne University,

specializing in curriculum development and assessment. Mr Sealey went on

to spend two years working as an MYP Humanities teacher in Hong Kong

until 2007 when he returned to Canada, where he spent 5 years working as

an MYP Coordinator, MYP and DP History Teacher, and Middle School vice

Principal. During that time he also became a workshop leader and

curriculum development officer for the MYP and served as the chair of the MYP section of the British

Columbia Association of IB World Schools. Mr Sealey joined Greenfield Community School in August

2012.
