¿Cómo usamos el Presente Continuo?

El Presente Continuo es una acción que El Presente Continuo es una acción que ocurre AHORA o en el mismo momento en ocurre AHORA o en el mismo momento en el cual estamos hablando.el cual estamos hablando.

Ejemplo: Ejemplo:

I I am doingam doing a power point now. a power point now.(Yo estoy haciendo un power point ahora.)(Yo estoy haciendo un power point ahora.)


Para formar este tiempo tenemos que usar:

El verbo BE + VERBING (Ambos siempre deben ir juntos)

El verbo BE significa en español SER o ESTAR.

La terminación-ING del verbo significa en español: -ando o -endo.


El verbo BE esta dividido en tres partes:

IS - AM - ARE

Y cada uno de ellos es usado por determinados pronombres personales...

I AM Yo soy o yo estoy

HE SHE

ITIS

Él es o él estáElla es o ella esta

Esto es o esto esta

WE YOU THEY

ARENosotros somos o nosotros estamosTú / Ustedes son o Tú / Ustedes están

Ellos son o ellos están


El pronombre personal I (yo) siempre acompañará al verbo AM.Así en conjunto se pueden traducir como: Yo soy – Yo estoy


Los pronombres personales HE (él), SHE (ella) e IT (esto,este,esta) siempre acompañarán al verbo IS.Y en conjunto se pueden traducir como: Él es – Él está Ella es – Ella está Esto es – Esto está


Los pronombres personales YOU (tú - ustedes), WE (nosotros - nosotras) y THEY (ellos - ellas) siempre acompañarán al verbo ARE.En conjunto se pueden traducir como:Tú eres–Tú estás/Ustedes son–Ustedes están Nosotros(as) somos - Nosotros(as) estamos Ellos(as) son – Ellos(as) están


Observemos el siguiente ejemplo

They are swimming.

En esta imágen observamosa dos niños que están nadando. “Los niños” puede ser remplazado por el pronombre personal they, yeste siempre va acompañadopor el verbo BE: ARE. Por otro lado, al verbonadar no sólo se le agregala terminación -ING, sino que tambien duplica su últimaconsonante.


Ejemplos...What is Sophie doing?She is playing volleyball.

En esta oración la Pregunta significa ¿Qué esta haciendo Sophie? “Sophie” puede ser remplazado por el pronombre personal SHE que acompaña al verbo BE: IS.Al verbo play sólo se le agrega -ing.


Ejemplos...What are Anne and Tom doing?They are cleaning the kitchen.

“Tom y Ann” remplazan al pronombre personal THEY y acompañan al verbo BE: ARE.Al verbo clean sólo se le agrega -ing.


Ejemplos...What are you doing?I am reading a book.

“I” es un pronombre personal que no puedeser remplazado por algúnnombre propio y siempreacompaña al verbo BE: AM.Al verbo read sólo se le agrega -ing.
