+Objective: Understand the anatomical structure of

production animals and how skeletal features correspond to movement & agility.

• Pasta-various shapes/sizes • Glue-be careful, it’s hot and will burn• Pipecleaners, straws• “Googly” eyes • Plates• Adhesive labels • Other “creative resources” of your choice

Task

• Choose a production animal to create a 3D skeletal system of.

• Examine skeletal drawings (textbook, copy from internet, etc.) looking at multiple views

• Evaluate provided pasta shapes• Construct frame of the animal making it as

lifelike and comprehensive as possible. • Label skeletal structure

Basic Scoring Guide

• Correctness of Form (does it resemble your animals skeletal system/shape?)– Keep in mind proportion and SCALE– Examine the flexibility of the species

• Bone Mastery – label at least 20 different bones and the 6 regions of the skeleton

• Show creativity and eye appeal • Show stability in your skeleton (it should

support its self)
