The Orange County Rescue Mission was founded in 1965, operating as a small store front program in Santa Ana that served impoverished and homeless populations. It is now one of the largest providers of services in the county, and one of the few agencies that has the capacity to house intact homeless families. Through the years, a continuum of services for those who are hungry, homeless and hopeless has grown to include provision of food, shelter and clothing, health care, education, counseling, job placement and affordable housing. The lives of men, women and children are restored and developed, to become self-sufficient and Christ dependent.
At the heart of Orange County Rescue Mission’s purpose is serving men, women and children in need with a hand up, not a hand out. As a faith-based organization, our mission is to minister the love of Jesus Christ to the least, the last and the lost, with the knowledge and experience that through this, lives are transformed.
