Oceans MoonFounder Biography

At the age of 42, Nicholas Michael Del Ninno turned to his wife of 17 years and said, “I think I’m going to take a break from corporate life and pursue my life long passion of entertainment. I’m heading back to school to take acting classes, do a few plays and learn digital production”.

Her response, “You’ve been successful at everything else you’ve tried; do you want me to help you run lines”?

And with that undying support, Michael began an enlightened journey leading to the creation of Oceans Moon Productions, Inc., and the vision of becoming the first nationally branded upscale cinematic wedding production company, coupled with the aggressive goal of acquiring prestigious partners such as Macy’s and Zoetrope (a Francis Ford Coppola company).

Now at the age of 44, Mr. Del Ninno has appeared in numerous stage plays, indie films (one of which won a November 2002 Slamdance award) and has written a comedy short entitled “Crowning Hackney”. Simultaneously he learned the technical side of digital production and wrote an ambitious business plan as his path to success. Now armed with vision, knowledge and enthusiasm, his focus has turned to securing partners to make his dream a reality.

Mr. Del Ninno started his professional career in retail, working for the Burdines Federated division. Shortly thereafter, he left the merchandising world and joined the corporate ranks where he gleaned a wide range of strategic business and marketing expertise. After 15 years in the corporate world, he ventured out searching more entrepreneurial opportunities, and enjoyed great success in developing start up ventures for the private sector.

His love of the entertainment business, entrepreneurial freedom, ground-breaking creativity and trustworthy business sense has led him, and his wife Marilyn, to the creation of Oceans Moon.

Mr. Del Ninno holds a B.A. degree in Marketing from Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, FL), and enjoys writing, acting, directing, shooting, editing, starting new ventures and hanging out with fun people.

Macy’s, Zoetrope, and Oceans Moon Team Up to Provide Ground Breaking Wedding Cinema

CINCINNATI, April 30, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Federated Department Stores, Inc. (NYSE:FD)(PCX:FD) today announced that it has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Oceans Moon Productions, Inc. to begin offering wedding cinema productions to Macy’s bridal registrants. The unique offering will be developed in partnership with Zoetrope (a Francis Ford Coppola company) and be presented under the romantic Oceans Moon brand.

“This is just another example of innovative merchandising designed to set Macy’s apart from the competition, while providing our customers a unique, romantic and prestigious service," said Robert L. Mettler, chairman of Macy's West. “Having an opportunity to have your wedding day produced by a Francis Ford Coppola company is absolutely unmatched in the industry and provides a lasting memory for generations”.

Francis Ford Coppola adds, “We’re very excited to be associated with such a time honored brand such as Macy’s. This relationship is the perfect compliment to our Niebaum Estate and Winery, Café Niebaum and our Blancaneaux lodge located in beautiful Belize”.

Under the agreement, Zoetrope will provide artistic direction and digital post production services, while Macy’s will provide in store merchandising, online customer access and promotion support.

Oceans Moon founder, Nicholas Michael Del Ninno, further states, “This relationship truly sets a new standard for the creation of professional wedding cinema. The combination of Macy’s, Zoetrope and Oceans Moon provides newlyweds with a time honored gift that will be cherished for a lifetime”.

The Oceans Moon concept will be tested in select Macy’s stores, and rollout is currently planned for early 2004.
