I had a real surprise the

other

night. Fourteen

of

the

Christian

young

men

who play

guitars together for

Christian

events and

known

as the

RONDALLA came

and gave us a

concert serenade a l i t t le before midnight.

They

said they

were celebrating their second anniversary together. Rodney

served

them

cookies and

when

they finished singing I gave

them candy

from

my

prize

Brach

assortment. This group

actually started

when Jorge gave guitar lessons on Rancho

Altamira and

especially

at

the

home

of one family

where

two of the fellows are star

players now

They are

much

in demand now fo r church reun ions .

Rodney surprised

me

after

Christmas by

presenting

me with

a

new

Cameo camera so that I could send you a

picture

now

and

then.

A few days later I had

another

surprise when we

returned from town and found that we had had a v i s i t

from

thieves

who

break in and

steal .

The culprits bashed in

a

small

bathroom window by which they

gained

entry and

then went

out

the

front

door taking with them among other

things

the new camera The

following

days were spent

getting protection

bars

and

more

locks around

the

place.

The

economy

is

partly

to

blame but you can

tel l

the

person-

ality

of the thief

by what he

takes.

I have to admit

that now I

appreciate

a

few

things more,the

things

they

didn u

take,

the holiday vis i t

the Mark Lichte family. Sylvia, our daughter, always

finds

plenty

to

do when she

comes.

Somehow the three

chi ldren:

Ruby,

David

and Emily always have an

adventurous

time.

They would like to be

here

for the

Missionary

Reunion this

March 20-23, 1995.
