VIRTUES ARE US

The Virtues programme at Hill

is part of our school culture and

part of our integrated inquiry

concept curriculum. This term

we are revisiting two virtues

listed as most important through

community consultation.

The first virtue is “Tolerance”.

A definition used with children

at school is “We are able to

show tolerance when we:

Accept differences

Make others feel included by

reaching out in friendliness

Be free of prejudice

Don’t complain when

uncomfortable conditions

can’t be helped

Change yourself instead of

trying to change others.

Accept people the way they

are, faults and all.

This virtue is an excellent link

to our Pupils in Positive

Playgrounds (Pipps) approach.

Families are encouraged to talk

about each virtue with children,

and discuss what they mean to

your family.

NEXT PTA MEETING

The next PTA Meeting will be

held next Monday, 28 July at

7.30 pm in the school staffroom.

All welcome!

PTA SIZZLE HELP

NEEDED THIS SUNDAY

Can you help? The PTA are

running a sausage sizzle at the

Animates opening this Sunday

and need some helpers. Please

ring Caroline at 021 840 720.

SHORTS NEEDED

Winter is here and so is the

mud! Children who want to

play touch rugby, soccer and

general “chasey” games on the

school field need to wear shorts

or skorts and they may also need

a change of clothes to put on

afterwards.

UNIFORM NEWS

LET’S KEEP THEM WARM

Hill School’s uniform

options include warm polar

fleece tops, long sleeved

skivvies, long pants and

school beanies.

Children may wear rain

coats and jackets to school

on these wet and cold days,

but are expected to wear

only uniform clothing at

school.

Girls are able to wear dark

blue tights with their skorts.

There is a small supply of

second hand uniform

clothing for sale at the

school office.

As always, please clearly

name all uniform clothing

so it can be returned to its

owner if dropped, and

check that naming hasn’t

been “washed out”.

Let’s keep them warm out there!

The Warehouse is the new

supplier of our school uniform.

ENRICHMENT CLASS

POSITION VACANT

Sadly, support staff member

Whaea Val is leaving and so

there is a position vacant to

support our Enrichment class

tamariki. Strengths in te reo and

tikanga maori required. This is a

15 hour per week position.

Please contact Graeme at school

or call 238 6374.

SENIOR PRODUCTION

“ONCE UPON A TIME”

Congratulations to the Senior

syndicate and staff for their

performances of Once Upon a

Time at the end of last term.

Hill certainly has some talent!

Can you help?

We are starting our next New
