Upcoming Tournaments

Met PGA Senior Championship | September 10th

The deadline to register for our Senior Section Championship is thisWednesday August 28th. The Championship will be played on Tuesday-Wednesday, September 10-11 at Knollwood Country Club. Remember, thereare two separate registrations for this event that players can opt for as thisevent doubles as qualifying for the Senior PGA Professional Championship. Anyone wishing to qualify must contact PGA of America by phone or registeronline at PGA.org. In order to be eligible for the Section Championship andprize money, players must register through Blue Golf on the Met PGA website.

"The Mitch" Pro Am at Innis Arden | September 24th

There are already only a few spots remaining in the annual memorial offormer Met PGA President William A. Mitchell at Innis Arden Golf Club. Professionals interested in bringing a team should register online immediatelyto avoid being shut out of this afternoon shotgun Pro Am.

Met PGA Pro Lady at Century CC | September 25th

We expect a full field for our annual Pinehurst format event with ladies' clubchampions and top woman amateurs in the area. Clubs may bring multipleteams provided that the event is not over-subscribed. Please register onlineto ensure your spot in the field.







Met PGA Team Championship & Partner Expo | September 30th-October 1st

Be a part of this fun team competition and the important Partner Expo as wereturn to The Bridge and Gardiner's Bay for this better-ball of two event. PGAMembers will have priority, but PGA Associates are eligible to play providedthe event is not over-subscribed.


Met PGA Senior/Junior | October 2nd

Hopefully many players in the Team Championship will stay out East and playone more day in the Met PGA Senior Junior. We will play 18 holes at SouthFork CC with 6-6-6 of Better-Ball, Scramble, and Pinehurst formats. The twoperson teams must consist of PGA Members/Associates over and under age50.


Jack Mallon Pro Am Championship | October 7th

Brookville Country Club will host our annual two person "Pro-Scratch" better-ball event named after a former Met PGA President who worked at GardenCity CC, Cold Spring, and Wheatley Hills. Teams must consist of a PGAprofessional from our Long Island jurisdiction, and a member of his/her club.


Whitey Voight Pro Am Championship | October 10th

The Westchester/CT/Upstate version of Long Island's Jack Mallon event, theWhitey Voight was created by Sunningdale CC to remember their belovedhead professional after his tragic death in an auto accident. Two personteams consisting of a PGA professional and a member of his/her facilitycompete in this better-ball of two event.

Scam Alert

At least one Met PGA Professional has recently experienced what we believeto be an attempt at fraud. An individual contacted a teaching professionalrequesting a series of lessons for his two children and requested to pay bycredit card. When advised that the instructor would accept cash or check, thecustomer suggested that he would assist the professional with setting up hisown merchant account.

All of the correspondence was through email and text messages anddiscontinued after attempted phone calls were placed.
