Background• In order to tap industrial and outdoor market segments, following products were envisaged

– Street Light– Flood Light– High Bay

• It was decided to develop these products on modular concepts. The idea behind this concept was that by changing the lens type, a number of products could be introduced for different applications.

• Advantages are manifold

1) Electronics would be common to all the products2) Heat sink and some PDC parts would also be common to all the products3) The product can be upgraded to accommodate next gen LEDs on the same Heat Sink.4) Modularity brings ease of maintenance in the field 5) The raw material inventory can be optimized to produce a no. of SKUs6) Spare parts inventory (Drivers etc.) for maintenance at the customer's end would also be minimized. 7) We can further extend our product range by introducing Billboard Lighting and Tunnel Lighting products

Variants

• In the modular arrangement the starting wattage will be 40W in all the applications.

• Subsequently the modules of 40W will be used to make the higher wattage products in different applications.– 40W– 80W – 2 x 40W– 120W - 3x 40W– 160W - 4x 40W

• With four Lenses, 13 different products would be made for various applications.
