factoids:factoids:

• More people worldwide will access the Internet on a mobile device than on a PC by 2013. (source)

• Mobile searches have quadrupled in the last year.  (source)

• 77% of smartphone users visit search engines (more than any other type of website, including social networking). (source)

• Nine out of ten smartphone searches result in an action (visiting a store or brand website, making a purchase, etc.). (source)

• 88% of local information seekers take action within a day, mostly within one hour. (source)

QR Codes & PrintWe really need to start connecting print publication design to the web. So here is my pitch:

• Print a beautiful folder with a sleeve in the back and the front with five pages of engaging, visually exciting and timeless content about the school.

• Now ask for information so you personalize the next print piece: When a parent or student fills out an inquiry form (in print or online) try to retrieve his or her interest areas. Example: I like soccer and drama.

• Next, print a personalized letter to put in the admission folder with active QR codes pointing directly to corresponding relative content on the website and/or supply a direct URL in the printed piece.
