mental space is pleased to announce Róbert Olawuyi´s solo

exhibition “Mein Liebstes Stück Deutschland”, opening on Friday,

May 16, 2014.

The exhibition is comprised of three works questioning today´s

perception of national identity on aesthetical approach. Therefore

he uses the formal advertising language and historical encodings

like “Fehrbelliner Reitermarsch”. Róbert Olawuyi´s installationaddresses the exhibition space as a medium to transform the topic

to current situation.

Olawuyi´s work can be characterized as an unfolding constellation

of different layers, which are not visible at the same time, shaping

and infuencing mutually.
