Sony makes the first 3 ½ inch computer disk.

IT professionals and the Chicago Community Trust recognize the need for technology support in nonprofits and form the IT Resource Center (ITRC).

The Donors Forum created the Nonprofit Financial Center to help organizations manage and track their resources.

1995JavaScript is first introduced and deployed.

Windows 95 sells 1 million copies in the first four days of its release.

The ITRC launches NPO.net to serve as a nonprofit job board.

1998

ITRC started working with Community Technology Centers to provide access to computers, the internet and digital literacy skills in underserved communities.

2007

Apple introduces the iPhone.

ITRC and the Nonprofit Finance Center join to become Lumity, a one-stop shop for nonprofit consulting and resources.

2012

Lumity begins expanding their work at Community Technology Centers and Chicago Public Schools and develops a college & career readiness program.

2014

Lumity celebrates 30 years of making Chicagoland a better place to work and live.
