Learning objectives and outcomes:

In this lesson you will learn: How to create 3- dimensional drawings

By the end of the lesson you will: Have done an isometric and a one and two point perspective drawing..

One point perspective:

Draw a vanishing point on the top right of your page….

VP (Vanishing point )

Page 13: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

One point perspective:

Now draw a line from the top left corner to the vanishing point..

Now draw a line from the bottom right corner to the vanishing point.. You should see your 3-D box starting to appear.

One point perspective:

Now draw two lines to complete the cube, and then…..

Page 17: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

Mr. Matthews

One point perspective:

….. Rub out the excess lines, leaving the vanishing point.

Now we will move onto 2 point pespective.

VP (Vanishing point )

Page 18: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

Two point Perspective

This is the method of drawing to give a 3 dimensional view.

Page 19: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

This is the box we are going to draw.

1. Draw the vanishing points, towards the top of the paper.2. Draw the front corner of the box.

3. Join the top and bottom to the vanishing points

4. Draw the back of the box verticals

5. Join them to the opposite VP

6. Rub out the unwanted lines.

Page 20: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

VPVPUse thick and thin lines to outline any edges which do not show both faces.

Page 21: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

Use rendering to make it look solid, use three shades of the same colour.

Page 22: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

Using the vanishing points you can add a range of shapes.Notice

that the vertical lines are always vertical

and all other lines go to one or other of the vanishing points.

Page 23: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

You can add rendering to the shapes.

Page 24: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

The shape can be changed.

Page 25: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

Render the shape.

Page 26: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

Can you work out where the VPs are for these objects?

Page 28: Lessons 1+2 (Drawing Skills)

Now it’s your turn.

• Using two point perspective, draw a series of 4 blocks and render them.

• That’s it.
