Western Kentucky University and the Kentucky Cello Club invite cellists of all ages to participate with club members and guest artists for a day of cello masterclasses, play-in clinics and ensemble playing. Guest Artists Sarah Kim - Suzuki Cello Teacher and Director, Cincinnati Young Artists Alan Rafferty - Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, University of Cincinnati College- Conservatory of Music Felix Wang - Associate Professor of Cello, Vanderbilt University Cellist, Blair String Quartet Schedule 9:00-9:30 Check-in, Coffee and Warm up time 9:30-11:30 Collegiate Masterclass (Felix Wang) Pre-College Masterclass (Alan Rafferty & Sarah Kim) 11:30-1:00 Lunch 1:00-2:30 Collegiate Technique Class (Alan Rafferty) Pre-College Technique Class (Felix Wang) Suzuki Cello Play-In for students in Suzuki Book 1, 2, 3 (Sarah Kim) 2:45-4:00 Cello Ensemble Reading Session Registration A registration fee of $10.00 must accompany the registration form attached. Make checks payable to the Kentucky Cello Club. Masterclass participants will be chosen and notified by August 15. Questions can be directed to Sarah Berry ([email protected]). The Kentucky Cello Club is a non-profit tax exempt organization whose purpose is to promote the art of cello playing.
