Congratulations to Natalie Marinack who was baptized on

January 8. Natalie is a senior at Hampton High School. She lives at 2136 S. Villa Drive; Gibsonia, PA 15044 with her parents John and Marian and her sister, Katie. Cindy Binz and Joyce Gongaware are serving as Natalie’s new member mentors.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Every February, we turn our focus to the America For Christ offering (and warmer weather). This offering puts its sole focus on “home” missions here in the United States. While we do send missionaries across the globe, and we do have a great partnership with our friends at AMOS in Nicaragua; we still need to keep a sharp eye on those in need at home. In 2016, we received a wonderful commendation from the American Baptist Home Mission Societies honoring us as one of the top 5% of giving churches in the campaign. Think about that, across our country churches of various sizes (some much larger) had campaigns for this ministry=we were among the most generous. This year, we should endeavor to continue to be among the most generous churches in the United States. Last year our church gave more than $2,500 to America for Christ. I think we can do even better. Envelopes for this offering will be arriving in the pews starting February 12th, and we will wrap-up the effort on the 26th. You may put your gift into the offering plate at any time. I pray that 2017’s effort will far surpass what we were able to do in 2016. Yours in Christ, Ryan Buschmeyer Chair, Mission Board

Prayer GroupPrayer GroupPrayer GroupPrayer Group While trying to think of something to write for the prayer group, I was reading Psalm 96 and it seemed to say, "I am what you are trying to say.." An exhortation to God Oh, Sing unto the Lord a new song; sing unto the Lord all the earth. Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols; but the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts. Oh worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; fear before him all the earth. Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved; he shall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar and the fullness thereof. Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice. Before the Lord; for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth; he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. KJV Saturday, I went with Tom and Tawnya and a group from the Intercultural Women of Houston with many spouses and some of their youngsters on a tour of The Big Thicket of East Texas, A National Park Preserve. It is a group of many different trees native to East Texas including Cypress, Southern Magnolia, Japan Holly and American Holly and many, many more including Chestnut. As it had stormed mightily the two days before the tour: we were unable to complete the tour as planned because we were not all dressed in hip high, wading boots. Our ranger told us he would be fired if he dared to take us all wading to unknown heights of water, but it gave us all a lesson in how mighty God can be and what storms can come our way: as well as how dangerous water can become. Prayer group meets most Sundays right after the service in JoAnn Swihart's office (room 4). If you have any additional prayers or concerns that have not been brought up during the regular service you may bring them to our attention at any time. Mary Michalek for The Prayer Group: Cindy Binz, Jennifer Bond, Jeanie Nipaver, Jane Prytherch
