Informal Dining Sometimes when arranging a party, a buffet or three course meal doesn’t quite work. Perhaps, you don’t want guests to sit formally, or maybe you just want to start the party on a different footing...Here are some ideas that might help

An afternoon teaThis menu is from a previous wedding where we prepared two courses, one savoury and one sweet. We served the savoury course with wines and water and the sweet course on three tiered cake stands, with champagne and pots of tea.For the savoury course;Smoked salmon roulades with cream cheese and chives, Asparagus wrapped in Parma ham, Tomato, basil and mozzarella tartsSlices of turkey and ham pie served with pickles and chutneys Chicken liver parfait and wild mushroom pate with crostini

For the sweet course we will serve the following; Top Tier: Heart Shaped Lavender Shortbread; Florentines and Lemon and berry tartsMiddle Tier: Homemade scones with clotted cream and strawberry jamBottom Tier: Macaroons; Glazed Fruit Tarts and Chocolate dipping pot served with strawberries and marshmallows on sticks

Finger Sandwiches with no crusts: Rare beef with horseradish and rocket; Flaked Tuna, red onion and coriander; Cucumber and lemon and Honey roast ham, tomato and apricot Chutney
