Hardest Button to Button Film Script
This song is about bringing a child into our dysfunctional society and cynical world. The whitestripes conveys to us that the young are very vulnerable and unprotected, especially
to a corrupt and evil society.
Editing How does it contribute? The song is a very rhythmic song, and the bass drum is a very prominent sound you will hear in
the song.
The use of effects in this video helps to enhance the rhythm of the song This video masterfully utilizes numerous editing techniques: Utilizes pixilation animation: Creates duplications of drum kits and guitar amplifiers Multiplying to the rhythm of song (each beat of the bass drum the drummer plays) This is effective as the song is a very rhythmic song Melody and rhythm based on the beat of
the drum
The video uses stop motion editing, which is used to complement the pixilation animation Each time the band equipment is duplicated, a new frame is shot Especially well used in 3:00, where the position of the pixilation animated drum star changes
every frame, giving the viewers the impression that the star is rotating.
Color and Lighting The video is mostly an abstract and artistic piece. Hence lighting is not used to enhance or emphasize emotion But the more technical aspects of the video, which I will discuss. Video uses mostly natural lighting, or sunlight. The natural light is very effective as it produces subtle and natural shadows As well as exaggerates delineation (outline) Hence creating a sharper image overall The video also uses light from the surrounding atmosphere (subway) to provide a brighter but
however more artificial effect.

The rule of thirds was also an effectively used camera technique And the video abided well to the rule (show pictures) By abiding the rule, visual story telling is thus enhanced and audiences will be more focused and
captivated to the main subject (the band performing)
The Characteristics The characteristics of this video serves to complement the rhythmic structure of the song. It Utilizes effects and filming techniques to complement music rather following a than a plot An abundance of filming techniques were used. They were not too varied, however they were
well executed
