The Groundwater samples were collected from the borewells located in the slum areas in Hyderabad. These samples were collected during the

period A1 _______________A2_____________B1_____________B2_______________.

The samples were tested at the Centre for Environment, JNTU, Hyderabad. The analysis is done for the samples collected during four periods

forming two sets based on the same locations covered. The samples were collected by _______________ (write names)

A1 – Groundwater samples analysis

Test report dated 11 January 2012 65 samples were collected and tested for Physicochemical and Microbiological Analysis as per IS 10500 - Drinking water standard. It was found

that the following samples are of drinking standards.

16-Ambedhkar nagar (teachers colony)-backside Railway nilayam, D.no:10-3-162/37 g.f-1801ft-17*26.439'-78*30.581'-24-03-2011-Ambedhkar nagar All the Physicochemical and microbiological parameters are within the permissible limit except the fluoride which is 1.58 ppm – can be used for

drinking water purpose.

17-Chacha nehru nagar-Near pvr highschool,kalpana road, D.no:6-6-426/64-1747ft-17*25.634'-78*29.680'-24-03-2011-Chacha nehru nagar All the Physicochemical and microbiological parameters are within the permissible limit – can be used for drinking water purpose.

Test report dated 28 April 2012 50 samples were collected and tested for Physicochemical and Microbiological Analysis as per IS 10500 - Drinking water standard. It was found

Comparing the two period samples the two samples remain the best for drinking purpose.

B1 Groundwater samples analysis

Metal Analysis

The Lead (Pb) is well within the permissible limit for all the samples.

The Cadmium (Cd) is high for only one sample 2 with is also having high dissolved solids, hardness and also chlorine – location at Indira Nagar 1-
