MICHIGANDEMOLAY

ATHLETICS

ATHLETICS– Participate in a chapter’s athletic program for one full year with a minimum of six game competitions in one or more sports.

ATTENDANCE– For perfect attendance at regular meetings for one year in a member’s chapter, or if far away from home, for the same number of meetings of another chapter.

CIVIC SERVICE– Contribute 10 hours of service on behalf of the chapter without financial remunera-tion to the individual or the chapter in three different civic projects of the chapter.

CONCLAVE- For attending three state, jurisdictional, or provincial Conclaves as a participant or as a visitor.

FINE ARTS– For working in or on a musical group with a minimum of six performances or for participating in a minimum of two theatrical performances.

FUNDRAISING– Work on at least three different fundraising projects for the chapter, for a total of 20 hours without direct financial remuneration to himself.

INSTALLING- For participating in six chapter installation ceremonies as a member of the installing team.

JOURNALISM– For being a member or submitting to, a chapter newspaper, public newspaper, electronic newspaper, Web newsletter, Web site, or any other form of published communication with at least six articles submitted and published, copies of which are forwarded to the Supreme Council Service and Leadership Center.

CORRESPONDENCE COURSE- The Leadership Correspondence Course is a five-course program. The Lamp of Knowledge certificate is awarded for successful completion of the fifth course. Merit bars are awarded upon successful completion of each of the courses. MASONIC ATTENDANCE-

Awarded to an active DeMolay who brings in 10 different Master Masons in good standing, to one or more DeMolay chapter meetings. He may not be an advisor of any chapter or jurisdiction. He must list each Mason and have the list confirmed by both the Master Councilor and Chapter Advisor. MASONIC SERVICE– For participating in three

different chapter Masonic service projects with a minimum of ten hours without financial remunera-tion to either individual or chapter.

REQUIREMENTS

Merit - For contributing 20 hours of service to DeMolay in an area not covered by another bar without �nancial remuneration to the individual or the chapter.

MEMBERSHIP- For securing and being the �rst line signer for three membership applicants who are initiated into DeMolay.

Priory - Be a member in good standing for a minimum of one year and attend two-thirds of the Priory functions.

RELIGION -For attending at least 30 regular weekly religious services per year.

Ritual – For achieving an UNUSUALLY HIGH GRADE work in either or both degrees with a minimum of 125 points earned according to the Supreme Council point scale. Points are awarded each time part is given.

SCHOLASTICS– For maintaining a “B” grade average (or equiva-lent) for one full year of school.

VISITATION–For six visitations at regular chapter meetings of a chapter other than his own or a total traveled distance of 150 miles (one way).

Representative DeMolay Award - This is the highest self-achievement award an active or Senior DeMolay can earn. It is a self-assessment program where you progress toward goals you set for yourself. You complete a detailed survey of your interests, achievements, general knowledge and habits. The survey is based around DeMolay’s seven virtues with subjects including: self-expression, hobbies, physical activities, religious activities, DeMolay activities and citizenship.

#1 Lapel Pin - For securing and being the �rst line signer for one membership applicant who is initiated into DeMolay.

Founder’s Membership Award - For securing and being the �rst line signer for �ve membership applicants who are initiated into DeMolay.

Blue Honor Key - For securing and being the �rst line signer for 10 membership applicants who are initiated into the chapter.

Past Master Councilor’s Meritorious Service Award - An award for a Master Councilor recognizing his accomplish-ments during his term. The term must include a well-balanced program, growth in member-ship, commitment to giving the ritual from memory and confer the initiation once during his term.

Junior Ritualist - Awarded for showing pro�ciency in all parts of

the Opening, Closing and Nine O’clock Interpolation.

Senior Ritualist - Awarded for showing pro�ciency in

all parts of the Initiatory Degree.

Master Ritualist - Awarded for showing pro�ciency in all parts

of the DeMolay Degree.

Deputy Grand Master Ritualist - Awarded for showing

pro�ciency in Installation, Flower Talk and Ceremony of Light.

Grand Master Ritualist - Awarded for showing pro�ciency in seven other public ceremonies from the Monitor of Ceremo-nies, which were not previously used to

obtain the Deputy Grand Master Ritualist Award. The Grand Master Ritualist can be completed on two separate testing days.

Junior Ritualist can be given to your Chapter Dad Advisor; Senior Ritualist and Master Ritualist can be given to the State Ritual Advisor, State Chapter Dad, or approved Administrative Sta� Member. Deputy Grand Master Ritualist and Grand Master Ritualist must be given to two approved members of the Executive O�cer's Adminis-trative Sta�.
