CHANGE OF DATE

Our Summer Fair date has changed to

FRIDAY 8TH JULY 2016 - 2.00 to 4.00 PM.

The change has been made by the

Parents’ Association because more parent

volunteers are needed to help run the event.

If you can volunteer on Friday 8th , please see Sue

in the school office.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the

welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share

this commitment.

PARENT GOVERNOR ELECTION

Thank you to the parents who voted.

You have elected Ebenezer Oyeleye

and the school looks forward

to working with him.

CTK SCHOOL CHOIR

Following in the footsteps of Elton John, Ellie Goulding, Procul Harum,

Youssou N’Dour, Björk, Patti Smith, Kris Kristofferson and many more artists

who have featured in concerts at the Union Chapel in Islington over the last

few years, our school choir participated in the PURE VOICES concert on

Monday of this week.

Our children sang a beautiful rendition of Bob Marley’s

‘THREE LITTLE BIRDS’ and danced beautifully to the rhythm of the song.

We are very proud of our children’s choir.

They have been very committed to their singing

and have turned up for all the practices.

We are planning many more choir events next year.

Thank you and very well done children!

PERFORMANCE ARTS AT ITS BEST!

Year 4 Midsummer Night’s Dream

Our Year 4 children visited AMSI secondary school this week

to participate in a Shakespeare workshop. The children looked at the language of the

play A Midsummer Night’s Dream , participated in a hot seat activity pretending to be

one of the main characters and acted out lines from the play.

Your child’s new class for next year

On Monday 11th July, your child will meet the new class

teacher who will be teaching them next academic year.

As well as this, your child will have the opportunity to visit

their new classroom and do some fun activities with the new

teacher.

You will receive a letter with information about your child’s

new teacher and class.

NOTICE TO PARENTS

Please remember that taking photographs of children in school is not permitted.

This applies to taking photographs of children in the playground

or when on school trips.

We also ask parents/carers to refrain from posting photographs of other children

on social media, including Facebook. Please remember that there may be some

very valid reasons why some parents do not wish for their child’s image to be on

the internet.

If you do see images of Christ the King children taken whilst in school or on

school trips, please report it to the school so that we can ask the person

responsible to remove the photographs.

In addition, Facebook has an age limit. No child of primary school age should

have their own Facebook account. It is of huge importance that as a parent you

know what your child’s presence on social media is.

End of Year School Reports to Parents

Children will be given their end of year report

on Friday 1st July.

If your child does not bring home their report

please let the school office know.

Year 6 pupils will receive their SATS results in the first or second week of July.

Year 1 St John’s class had 98.21%

Well done to St John’s class!

NEW SCHOOL UNIFORM

Our new school uniform becomes compulsory in September 2017. To help

parents, we have stated that the next academic year 2016 –2017 will be a

transition year when both the old and new uniform can be worn. This is to

help parents replace items gradually and to give children time to grow out of

the current uniform they have.

If you are buying a new uniform for September 2016, we would advise you to

invest in the new uniform. This includes all uniform items such as PE kits

and school bags.

CORRECT SCHOOL UNIFORM SHOES

We have noticed that some children have been coming to school without the

correct school uniform, especially footwear.

Please note that children must wear black, sensible school shoes.

Trainers and boots are not permitted.

I understand that from September we will be changing the school uniform,

however, the rules around school shoes have not changed.

The rule is still the same and from September children will continue to be

expected to wear sensible black shoes- and not black trainers.

Please can you monitor your child’s footwear before they leave for school so

that you can be assured that they are meeting the uniform expectations.
